The ANTI-LOVE SONG poll
It took long enough. Anyway, these are for the songs that are laced in bitterness, anger/rage, and utter annoyance. You know the point when someone is so fed up that, though they love you deeply, they have just about had enough.
Lindsey, you are a writer of some great anti-love songs my man. I can't...

If for some reason you all have another anti-love song not on the poll...
TOO BAD- YOU HAD ENOUGH TIME!!!! I'm kidding. Just share it and why you chose it. When voting, you can consider the overall quality of the song HOWEVER it would be cool if you narrowed your choice down to which one of these anti-love songs is THE ONE that really packs the hardest punch in it's intent. Vote however you want. It's all for fun.

But you must vote!
I want everyone to vote. A huge part of the Buckingham-Nicks era Fleetwood Mac, which most on The Ledge are fans primarily of, is that sort of resentment/anti-love chemistry as well, wouldn't you say? I mean, not completely. But it is there.

Ok, it does not show who voted.
So please, PLEASE explain your votes. Don't be scared. I just would love to know who voted for what.

For me, an anti-love song works best without harmony, so I could not vote for the obvious choice of Go Your Own Way. My vote went to What Makes You Think You're The One - a great song where you can shout out the lyrics, locked away alone in your room, while sticking needles into a voodoo doll of your anti-loved one.

Dr. Brown, your response was SO excellent. I haven't voted yet, but your idea of a perfect anti-love song and mine are quite similar. Thank you for sharing.

I voted for The Ledge. Wasn't "you're never gonna make it baby!" the meanest thing he could say to Stevie at this point in her life?? I think this song is about domination.... Perfect vicious Lindsey song.
And i don't get why you choosed NGBA, but not SHN, those two songs, lyrically, are basically the same : i suffered for so long but now it's over. GYOW has this vibe too. Not vicious enough to be the ultimate anti-love song, anyway, IMO! All in all Tusk Lindsey was a lot more angry than Rumours Lindsey.

Nico, great poll idea.
I chose WMYTYTO. That song grabbed me the first time I heard it and the drums are just killer awesome in it. Plus, Lindsey expresses his anger (and his pain) so well it's almost tangible.

Flipping heck - that was impossible.
The reason I voted for NGBA is because you always hear it in a slightly different way when he plays/sings it live. When he sings it in that really slow and whispery (barely audible) way, it just sends shivers right through me. But, flipping heck - that was impossible! |

All the songs are great...but I narrowed it down to The Ledge, Tusk and Caroline and thought which song of the 3 I like the best and Tusk won. I wish you had made the poll public. I like to see what songs each Ledgie would pick.

I chose 'Come'. It's a pretty well straightforward song...telling someone everything she'll regret by not choosing to be with Lindsey.
My 2nd choice would have been 'I Must Go'. It's not that I think these two are the very best songs in general....just the best to get his point across.

Vivfox, I know! I wish I made the dang poll public too. I totally perfected remembering all the songs but didn't pay attention to details setting it up.
Sorry everyone! Please share your picks!!!

Well it looks like I'm the lonesome voter for "I Must Go". I just find it a quirky, interesting take on the whole "anti-love" genre. It's aware of it's own aberrations and it embraces them. Though that final statement could be used quite easily to describe any song on Go Insane, or even Law and Order.

I can't pick... This is pretty much a list of my favourite Lindsey songs. I know that as soon as I pick one in the poll I'll instantly regret it and wish I'd pick another. And another. And another...
