~~~No contest for me it's Say Goodbye even though I love most of Lindsey's songs on this album.~~~
Definitely Murrow (I can't call it "Murrow Turning Over In His Grave." It's just "Murrow" to me)!!
Red Rover is a close runner-up though! -Sonia
Best
I loved Bleed to Love Her on the Dance. And I love the studuio version too!
"Say Goodbye" Is what we have been waiting for. A end to the past for them and a new friendship. Steal your heart away is another. Has been put together rather nicely. Love the gutiar on this one and Bleed to love her..... |
Red Rover. Whatever I'm doing, it just makes me stop for a few minutes while it washes over me. Fantastically emotional.
Murrow!
It's funny, but when I think of this album, I don't think of Bleed & SYHA as being on it, since they were both released last time. Lindsey just owes us two more songs -Lisa
love Red Rover and all of it's weirdness and emotion, and Say Goodbye is my second favorite. I'm willing to bet that a Lindsey or Christine song has never won one of those Survivor games on any message board. It's rigged I tell ya |
Re: Fave SYW LB song?
I've always been more fond of Lindsey's edgier stuff than the mainstreamish songs. The likes of "Steal Your Heart Away" might be good, but certainly won't have me jumping around in awe.
However, SYW favourites then: "Murrow", and not just because there's a similarity to "I'm So Afraid". The whole thing is like an old blues song gone through a metamorphosis. Those "Black Betty"-cliches are multiplied to the nth degree when those weird harmonies and the distorted guitar appear. The guitar solo in particular reeks of such violence that it's easy to imagine Lindsey tearing the media powers into shreds with it. This is how a bluesman would make a song these days, no whining about "my gal is gone", rather direct criticism to the way the world is today. "Red Rover". The whole thing is incredibly hyperactive and makes me feel like the spring has arrived and made everything alive again. I'm sure it would sound great in a banjo arrangement too. But then again, "Come" and "Say Goodbye" are quite close to these two. And so would be "Down On Rodeo", "Twist Of Fate", "Gift Of Screws" and "Deep Dense", had he decided to use these on the album. |
Every LB song on SYW is absolutely awesome. Red Rover and Say Goodbye are outstanding, as is the live version of "Come" which is now my joint favourite song of all time (tied with the live version of "Go Insane").
