They got to be kidding .

2. (2) Britney Spears; $2,051,607; $98.53.

Is there that many young airheads that wasted their allowance or parents hard earned money to see her.

I was front and center.

I'd rather watch her lip sync and put on a hell of a performace than watch Stevie 1/4 ass her way through the boring setlist.

The number is inflated because Spears played two shows in several markets (the average is per city played, not per show). But, yes, the fact that she's averaging $1M+ per gig is pretty remarkable. Example- she just took $7M+ out of the LA/Anaheim market (over 4 shows). Amazing.

Britney's fans are almost entirely 21-35- she hasn't skewed to teens/tweens in a long time.

very well here in the "Bible Belt", considering it was a Sunday night show.

I find it interesting that people continually compare Stevie Nicks (who is 61) to Britney Spears (who is 27). Without Stevie and those like her making the breakthroughs that they did in their own time, there would be no Britney Spears. I guess you should just rip up your "Stevie fan card", because if you prefer watching a lip synching robot perform songs that she doesn't even contribute her own ideas to, instead of hearing someone sing live, who has written some of the greatest songs of all time, then go right ahead. If you really feel that way about Stevie, then stop following her around NYC when she visits, and don't go to anymore concerts...simple as that.

I think all 6,000 of us were at the stage. I'm still very happy they didn't cancel this show. It probably should have been.

I know the stats are taken with a grain of salt, but FM's average per show if at or lower than acts of their status. I mean look at Bruce S. And the Billy Joel numbers. So, FM, pricing must not be that off base, though lower priced tickets in the better sections may have sold more tickets and enough to offset the discount.

But Bruce is playing to fuller houses and is playing multiple dates WHILE keeping ticket prices just south of $100. I suspect that FM could be making the same money (or more) if they would charge less money and played larger/fuller houses. Those figures for Milwaukee and Salt Lake City are embarassing!

I agree with you on all accounts, Erin. I am especially happy that they didn't cancel because it's the first time that I ever got to be at the stage for an FM concert. I was very impressed that they all put on a great show inspite of the low attendance. I saw them in St. Paul for the second show of this tour, and though it may have been nerves, they didn't put on as good of a show for a much larger crowd.
