One of 2008's best reviewed albums, Vampire Weekend's full-length debut made countless top 10 year-end lists, including Rolling Stone.

Vampire Weekend performed its version of Everywhere in studio at Triple J. Several on-line publications have declared it one of the best covers of 2008.

And Vampire Weekend is the best band of 2008. APunk and Ladies of Cambridge are worth buying. But I think they should cover a LBTusk song on thier next CD. Just saying

The fact that critic's darlings such as Vampire Weekend - whose debut CD released in Jan. 2008 was certified Gold - speaks to FM's continued relevance.

The musicians have also proven themselves quite an able cover band, taking on the likes of Radiohead, Tom Petty and an inspired take on Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere,” a song Batmanglij and Keonig bonded over one hazy night back at Columbia.

“Ezra and I got really high, and I played the Fleetwood Mac version for him. He was blown away,” Batmanglij chuckles. “Even though there’s a lot of heavy production going on, at the heart of it is a great song. That’s where it all connected.”

I love the last comment about the over-production. I totally agree. I think that had Everywhere been produced more simplistically that it would have been an even bigger and classic song. The chorus is awesome to sing along to and I feel that LB just subdued it sooo much on the TITN version...mind you it was the 80s so that explains a lot haha

Well I consider The Dance version to be definitive. And if ONLY VW had officially released Everywhere. I'm seriously considering not buying their new album unless they include it as a bonus track.

Yeah they did do this on triple J radio station, this is the radio station i listen to, and like usual have it on in the morning as i get ready for work, they every few weeks have someone on for a cover, and guess what the song was! Perhaps all of us have this, that you have a little moment where you hope to hear them mentioned, or that someone is talking or singing a fmac or stevie song... yeah
