Yeah, I've been able to play those on my computer with no problem, but it sure would be nice to watch it on a larger screen.

Maybe this might help?
I use WinAvi Video Converter to convert any kind of video media files. When choosing for conversion to DVD format, there is an option to set the target format to either "AUTO", "PAL" or "NTSC", regardless of the input format. Next you can burn the files to your own DVD.

Good luck.

Well all dvd players sold over here can handle NTSC discs fine as well as PAL.

All PCs will be fine with this disc. Just the home players you need to check the specs on. If its a reasonably new dvd player I would think it should handle it. Check the specs list on the dvd players instructions..

The disc will be locked with Macrovision copy protection and this wouldn't work.

Is America lame with technology? (well ok, yes 'cos the iphone isn't even 3G!).. But over here in the UK you can buy a dvd player that will play both PAL and NTSC on a PAL tv for about $30.

Yes it is.......sadly, most DVD players sold here will only play NTSC and not PAL. Not sure if there might be some newer models can handle both.

Okay, next problem to be solved.
I downloaded a cracked version of CloneDVD2 together with AnyDVD (search for torrent files). This makes it possible to bypass any security locks. Using it to make your private copies wouldn't be illegal would it? It works fine for me.

Good luck

From what I understand, a DVD player is only concerned about region code, so an NTSC or PAL disc should play. A DVD recorder also has a TV tuner that will be either NTSC or PAL, but should not affect playback. Now here comes the crunch; the TV (or monitor) is where the ability to view comes in. Most UK TVs can play back both NTSC (no surround sound though) and PAL, but TVs in the USA are invariably only capable of NTSC playback.... therefore a PAL dvd will probably have to be viewed on your computer.

As for the Peter Green DVD, mine is region 0 PAL. I first ordered it from Amazon on 29th May, but eventually got an email from them saying it would not ship until end August. I canceled it, and re-ordered it from one of Amazons market place zshops (The Book Depository) who claimed it was in stock. It arrived the next day, 22nd June, so shop around if there is a long lead time.

All this being said, does anyone know if the DVD will be available in NTSC for the US market?

Default info for European fans :)))

Instead of buying on Amazon.co.uk (and waiting till August) you can try to buy it at once. Here are a few on-line shops:

I bought the DVD yesterday on Blah Dvd shop and it has already been sent to Poland. It's going to arrive to me in 3-5 working days, as they promised )

Pity Blah doen't accept Paypal. I don't have credit cards (seems I'm just an old fashioned 55 year old bloke), so I did a search on ebay. Found a seller accepting Paypal and charging GBP 12,00 plus GBP 2,50 for postage, so just a little more than the GBP 11,99 and no postage. But expecting it any day now.
Can't wait
