Default Let it snow!

Well we finally got the blizzard they were promising! It was very impressive actually. I went to collect the kids from school and we had very cold rain. I got Cory and stood waiting for Rhiannon and then the snow started. I could barely see in front of me, it was so heavy! We just don't get snow like that here!. Within about 10 mins we had about 5 inches of snow! Everything was covered. Got home.. all cosy and warm with no intentions of going anywhere and then my sister called to say she was having contractions and needed to go to hospital! I have never driven in snow before but I headed off to take her! Well what a nightmare! The journey should have took 15 mins and it took 3 1/2 hours! The roads were gridlocked and there had been numerous accidents! All the time I'm aware she might give birth in the car! LOL! I skidded a few times and it was very scary. Managed to get her there and her partner was already there having walked from work as that would be quicker than driving! So then I set off home. It took 1 1/2 hours to get home! What a night mare evening. No news on my sister yet but at least she is there and I'm home in the warm

Glad you made it home okay. I hate driving in that kind of weather, & I cannot imagine the possibility of having to help someone deliver a baby in it. Best wishes on an easy delivery for your sister. Stay warm.

Forgive my ignorance (as usual), but is Ellie-Mae a common British name? In America it's distinctly Southern.

Not really that common. Mae is my daughters middle name but I don't think that's why she chose it.

Cool. I like names that are a little different.
Congratulations to you & the family.

Ellie Mae!! CUTE!!

Yeah, Jake's right, it's the name of a character on the Beverly Hillbillies. It's VERY Southern, that's cool!!

Congrats on the new niece AND thank God you are okay after the ride in the blizzard!

Default LOL!!

Yep, sounds like Texas too. It can be like 26 degrees and snow at 8AM, then by around 4PM, it's sunny and you'd never known it had snowed. LOL
