Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Carrie Underwood will come together to salute Linda Ronstadt upon her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10 in New York, while Bruce Springsteen, Glenn Frey, Questlove, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Michael Stipe and Tom Morello will be among the performers and presenters on hand to welcome in the other 2014 inductees.

Those will include Peter Gabriel, Nirvana, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), KISS, Daryl Hall & John Oates, the E Street Band, Beatles manager Brian Epstein and Rolling Stones manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham.

Ronstadt, citing health issues related to her Parkinson’s disease, will not attend the event and is among three of this year’s Rock Hall class not scheduled to perform. “It’s something I never gave one thought to,” Ronstadt told The Times last week. “It wasn’t on my radar screen. Other people seemed to be way more interested in it than I am. It’s like other awards that have come my way: I’m delighted to get them and I’ve very grateful, but I didn’t work in music for that reason.” She revealed last year that Parkinson's had rendered her unable to sing.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that she has Parkinson's. I always thought that she has been a class act. Thanks for posting.

Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Chris Martin: The stars are turning out to salute the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

The hall of fame announced Tuesday that "The Boss" will fittingly induct and perform with his loyal E Street Band, while a superstar lineup of Nicks, Underwood, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow will perform for Linda Ronstadt. Glenn Frey will induct the singer.

Michael Stipe of R.E.M. will induct Nirvana, Coldplay’s Chris Martin will induct Peter Gabriel, Tom Morello handles those duties for KISS, and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson will induct fellow Philadelphians Hall and Oates.

Inductees Daryl Hall and John Oates, Gabriel and Cat Stevens will perform during the April 10 ceremony, which will be broadcast May 31 on HBO.

Undoubtedly, Stevie will trot out "It's So Easy" because it's easier than having to rehearse something new. Any of Linda's recordings would be wonderful for Stevie - imagine a heartfelt version of "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress" - but I suspect she won't venture out of her comfort zone. Lazy bugger.

not to mention it was the first song she sang with Sharon, when she jumped up onstage at the Blue Max to sing with Sharon and her band, the night she then asked Sharon if she would want to be in her band when she put one together for her solo work.

She sang "The Rose" in honor of Bette Midler, when Bette received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award. I wouldn't say that was in her comfort zone.

Agreed Johnny. I remember seeing an audience recording of "The Rose" from that performance and it sounded great. I would have loved an official release of that.
Stevie frustrates me because she still possesses so much talent, but for whatever reason, doesn't always exploit her strengths. Even with regard to the upcoming Mac album, she's in a position where she could contribute 3 or 4 killer songs/performances, but I fear she'll only serve up something lukewarm and generic - ie way beneath her abilities.
