i ran across this photo which is supposed to be of pete. i'm not sure that it is, and if it is, when it is from. perhaps just prior to his comeback, 77-78? has anyone seen this before?

Haven't seen that photo before, but I'm confident that it is Peter. (if it is not, then probably somebody from his family...brother Mike, maybe?) The eyes are the giveaway.
Yep, it looks as though it could be from those years between '73-77 (sometime after his appearance on BB King's BB In London album). His face looks a bit chubbier than the photo from the BB King album, but he doesn't look to have yet gained the waistline he had during the PVK years.

I'm pretty sure that's him - I've not seen the pic before though. Mike Green looks quite different to Peter - I sometimes thought that other members of the family resembled each other in a way that Peter didn't share, particularly when he was younger.
I'd agree that it looks like about '77. |

Hi,
That's an official PVK Records Promotional photograph. It would have been yaken some time during the time Peter was under contract with PVK. Cheers, Don |

Quote:
i recall a picture of pete and peter vernon-kell from a party early on in the pvk years where pete is clean shaven and (as cD said) thinner. this promo photo may be from that era.... if you compare this with the photos even from pete's wedding or the one from the back cover of the us release of 'in the skies', it seems that the promo photo is earlier... best, zero Last edited by mzero; 06-09-2006 at 10:16 AM.. |

Yes, Greeny's long time fan and collector and friend of mine Don Brown is right!
I agree that it's an early Pvk publicity shot, soon after Peter left the Prior clinic, about 1977 and probably around the time he started early recordings for "In The Skies" Mario. |
