Default Stevie Nicks wants The Weeknd to clean up his lyrics

http://www.outlookindia.com/newsscro...lyrics/1013956

London, Mar 24 Singer Stevie Nicks is a big fan of The Weeknd but thinks he needs to clean up his lyrics.

The 68-year-old Fleetwood Mac singer is a big fan of the "Starboy" hitmaker but wishes the words to his songs weren't so "super dirty", reported Femalefirst.

"I've been listening to The Weeknd's records. I play them one after the other when I'm in my bathroom, getting ready to go out, or just hanging out with myself," Nicks says.

"He's brilliant. And his voice - he could have come straight out of 1975 - he could have been like Stevie Winwood. He's over-talented.

"But if I were to meet him, I would probably say, 'You say over and over again words that I would prefer you didn't say. I think they're unnecessary. However, even though I think a lot of your songs are super-dirty, I still really like them. So I've given you a pass on that.'"

Isn't this just an excerpt taken from the last interview with Q Magazine?

It pretty much is, but no need to apologize. You might get a valid discussion.

I like in the end she basically says, he's allowed to swear because she likes his music so much.

Which I thought was a cool way to say it.

It's funny how music that is normally not in your genre can appeal to you.
Case example: I HATED the Jonas Brothers.
But I LOVE Nick Jonas' solo stuff.
I like his vocal range, rasp and have purchased all Nick Jonas' solo albums, starting with a blues inspired album he did with Prince's old band before he ditched Disney.
I think he gets A LOT of crap for his stint with Disney, the same way Timberlake did at first.
I NEVER in a million years thought I'd support anything Jonas related!
He's a pretty good actor too. His show "Kingdom" is a terrific ensemble show and his character is very well written and he does a great job in it.

The Weeknd is one of the few artists in his genre that I enjoy. His music always has a good sense of melody and the lyrics are clever, kind of crude, but clever. The Hills for example is such a fantastic song.
