Default American Horror Story 6

At the end of season 5 I had decided that I was jaded with Ryan Murphy and this series, and while I would probably have watched it I didn't want to get too hyped up. But, for the first time since season 2, Ryan Murphy decided to keep silent and leave some mystery in the season's theme, which I approve totally and gives me hope.

Now, about this year's season we know:
  1. This season has two themes and both concern children
  2. The logo is a question mark blended with a 6
  3. It is set mainly in two periods, in the present with flashbacks from the past
  4. Photos taken from the set show a tree with the writing "CROATOAN" on the trunk and a farmhouse from the colonial era
  5. Only one of the teasers they've released is true, the other are misdirections
  6. Sarah Paulson's character will be a "Real. Live. Human."
  7. We'll see further explanations of how the seasons are linked together
  8. It will premiere on September the 14th
  9. All the teasers released for now "quoted" a classic horror movie, with the exception of the one called "Wind Chimes".

These are all the teasers released until now:

I wish Jessica Lang would come back. We're re-watching Asylum now. I think that's my favorite season so far. Also looking forward to a new season of Salem!

I totally agree! Jessica Lange is American Horror Story. Its just not the same without her. Asylum is my favorite season as well. The characters and storyline to me were just so much more developed than what we have seen in other seasons and I actually liked how it ended.

The love of Asylum just baffles me- I thought that season was a hot mess. It was just all over the place: Serial Killers! Nazis! Zombies! Aliens! Demons! Evil Nuns! Mental Illness! Wrongful Detainment! Medical Experiments! Basically every horror topic was thrown at it, and it came across as totally absurd.

I'm approaching this new season with trepidation. While I LOVED Murder House and Coven, the rest of the seasons were pretty terrible. Asylum and Hotel had such great potential, but both fell flat. Hotel became so silly and Wes Bentley's acting was so terrible, I stopped watching it; and Asylum was so over the top and scattered that I never finished it, either. I never even tried to watch Freak Show because the theme was so distasteful to me. Let's hope this new season gets back some of that Murder House mojo.

I also think that Murder House is the best season so far, it was much more cohesive and it left the least amount of "pendant threads".
I loved Asylum for the theme but it ended up being a melting pot of storylines and those that I actually liked more never got the attention they deserved (especially the experiments). The final episodes had some beautiful moments, you may have missed out on some amazing Jessica Lange and Ian mcShane.
I liked Coven but I never loved it. It always bugged me that it should have been a magic academy and we never saw an actual lesson. It was more an exercise in style than anything else.
You should give a chance to Freakshow, for the first 4 episodes I thought it had the potential to surpass the first season, but then it ended up having too many storylines as well, but much worse than the other previous seasons. But I loved the finale for the faboulous Jessica Lange's bow out. It was sufficient just for these five episodes.
Hotel is my least favorite series. I really disliked Lady Gaga's role and acting, and Wes Bentley's serial killer was the worst shocking moment ever. Really, I think even my cat had seen it coming.

I've just seen. I'm still pretty speechless but I loved it, the "Murder House" parallel, the documetary style, Sarah Paulson/Lily Rabe, Angela Bassett and Cuba Gooding jr as protagonists, Kathy Bates doing a true antagonist, these are all things that set the bar very high for this season. I'll write more tomorrow when I'll have digested everything properly.

Good first episode! Nice to see Angela Bassett have some dialogue that's not through clenched teeth. I've always been fascinated by the Roanoke story so this is intriguing. I liked the documentary style too - it seems appropriate with all the Netflix specials of late. Looking forward to next week.
