Hmm, this make me angry
So, Dolly is coming to California next week for a few shows.
I bought a ticket to see her at Fantasy Casino in Indio because the Santa Rosa show (much closer) sold out while I was flying to see Stevie in Vegas. I thought it would be fun to take a driving trip to the desert and see her. Last week, tickets started popping up for Santa Rosa. And, since I'm a little broke, I thought I would skip the Indio show and save the gas/car rental/hotel expenses. I called Fantasy Casino because my ticket is being held at will call and wanted to know how I could get the ticket or have it transferred to another name so that I can put the ($150) ticket on eBay and get my money back. They said that they won't mail the ticket to me and that I can't have it transferred to any other name. The only thing I can do is pick it up anytime between now and the show. I explained that I live 500 miles away and that's not really very possible and defeats the whole purpose. They wouldn't budge. I kept saying you're telling me that I've purchased something and you won't let me have access to it in order to make sure it it used. They kept saying "sure we are, you can come anytime and get the ticket". This is pretty outrageous, no? I've transferred names before through Ticketmaster and Telecharge in New York with no problems. I figure I could make a fuss and maybe they will relent and let me transfer the name, but I don't trust they will really do it and that will screw whoever would buy my ticket. Thoughts? I guess I'm either out $150 or I'm seeing Dolly in Indio anyway (the latter not being such a horrible thing ) |

I'm not trying to sway you either way, but look how happy she'd be if you showed up!

Well, it sounds to me like they're trying to kill the scalpers, which is a GOOD thing(right?).

Definitely. I understand their reasoning, but seems like they could work with me on this a bit. I can fax them a copy of my credit card, driver's license, etc. And it's only one ticket.
