I never saw that other movie, but I read a book by Anne Tyler by the same title. Is it about a woman obsessed with a rock singer?
Yes! I didn't know Anne Tyler wrote that book! ha!
Damn, i was trying to see if i should rent it or not. (slipping down life) I really like guy pierce. But the back implied there was a shooting and stuff, and since i already knew Collateral was good, i decided to save it for another day.
Wow, you've really reassured me about the Isabella movie! great! looking forward to...

Sideways is fabulous, finally a movie that deserves all the hype.

I like to cruise the IMDb just to get some ideas for rentals. If I don't know what to get, I just search through it for twenty minutes.

yeah, it's a good plan, especially for someone who watches as many movies as you...
I think i'm gonna wait for sideways on DVD, but, maybe not, i kinda want to see it before the oscars so i can go..."C'mon!!! are you kidding me?! Hilary Swank!?"

I like Swank, but I haven't seen Million Dollar Baby and I have no desire to, really.

Madsen must win or else. Portman? Oscar-worthy in "Closer"? Gimme a f*cking break.

I love how this thread has drifted oh so far away from the original topic.

I was gonna say Portman, but i didn't want to, uh...you know.
I don't love swank. don't hate her, but...shoot, i'd rather see Meryl get another one than either of those two. And i don't usually feel that way. Omigod, i was reading an Oscar thing today in the paper, and he brought up Julia for Closer not that he thought she should get nommed, but that she might.
I will eat the hairs from my brush if that no talent b**** gets nommed!
I like movies with girls boxing, but i don't want to see the sad part where Hillary is paralyzed...
I loved Girlfight, though...

Julia in Closer? Gawd, she's horrid. One of the worst actresses of all time. Truly wretched. She should be burned at the stake for giving us My Best Friend's Wedding and all her other **** films. Meryl I find rather cloying lately, to be honest.

Boxing movies bore me to tears. Unless an ear gets bitten off, count me out.

It's only natural when they're **** topics.

Meryl has been a bit more cloying, but still, to me, it's one if those "more talent in her little finger" things. *plus Cancer* Plus, I haven't seen Manchurian candidate, but if she's evil, it's probably a more compelling performance than her usual ones lately.
I like sports movies with chicks. And some other sports movies. For instance, bad movie i love: Blue Crush (I think that's what it was called. Rosario Dawson was in that one, too.) I actually saw it in the theatre.
also - A league of their own, and Major League. Also 8 Men Out.
well, you see my point.
I completely agree about Julia. I wish her brother was more famous than she, because i like Eric. But no. We have to have the "pap and drivel" member of the family... The review i read actually said that she ruined Closer.
