I would imagine that by the time Rumours came to be that the last thing LB wanted was another playing guitar especially Stevie. Can you imagine if Stevie had kept up her playing and was performing "Landslide" by herself at FM shows. Don't think LB would have liked that at all back then. I believe it's in the "Rock A Little" liner notes that Stevie says she wished she had kept her playing skills up.

I honestly only know 2-3 songs from that list. Can we please add Storms in for me?

Totally. I never compare my work to other artists because I know it will only destroy my self-confidence... But when practicing it doesn't hurt to look at others' work.

I just can't get over the fact that Stevie Nicks is singing along to "You Belong With Me" hahaha. I actually love that song, but it's so kiddy compared to her own work! It's like she's the teacher in an elementary school singalong.

Even giving consideration that Stevie could become proficient with a guitar, I doubt she would ever become a second guitar player in Fleetwood Mac. She's a visual performer - playing anything more complex than a tambourine would hinder her stage presence. Her limited level of musicianship as a pianist and guitar player appears mostly as a means to write songs. I don't think Lindsey would ever be concerned that Stevie could usurp his role. She has a special talent but she was never destined to have the range of someone like Joni Mitchell.

Stevie played guitar standing right next to Lindsey on stage for years (BN) and would have played for FM but she says LB would have found something to complain about so why bother.

Only 3 songs? Girl you need to buy a bunch of Fleetwood Mac albums or study FM 101 in college.

They have "Greatest Hits" and that's all you need if you are buying tickets to see FM because they are the best Fleetwood Mac tribute band out there.

I know, I'm way behind on my FM knowledge beyond Stevie Nicks' songs. On the plus side it gives me something to discover / listen to if I'm feeling down or bored, hehe. Amazing times when I didn't know all of Stevie's songs yet and was still discovering her music. Every album was like a new candy store.

Yeah fortunately I know 97% of their current set list, lol.

She never said she would have played for FM or even wanted to play for them. She said doing so would only be for show.

Maybe the announcement will be solo tour dates that would begin around September?
Or would announcing something like that be bad business sense in that FM is currently touring?

Jamie

Wow, you've got a great big treat ahead of you.
Is it really possible to be such a Stevie Nicks fan without having any real awareness of FM songs? That had never even occurred to me.

I don't know but I'd better be "surprised" mighty soon! I think it's slightly mean to announce big surprises and then leave everybody hanging. It better be good.

I sincerely hope you're wrong. By the time this FM tour wraps, she will have toured for 2.5 years solid with the band. Before that she toured for about 2 solid years solo. I pray all of this will help her decide to break from life on the road for a while to record this final FM album. Don't get me wrong, a handful of theater dates showcasing the 24k songs would be amazing, but I certainly don't see that in the cards. Stevie likes to go big or go home.

Either way, whatever this week's announcement is won't be anywhere near this consequential. It'll be new exclusive content for her website or something equally as unexciting.

I know! FM is amazing.

Actually, when I first heard of Stevie Nicks, I didn't even know she was a member of FM! I think it's because my mother is a fan of Stevie's solo work, and neither are popular here.

The Netherlands? I though Fleetwood Mac were/are quite big there.

Actually yeah, you're right. But I never heard of them growing up.
