RIAA certification
I have no idea how Eagles Hotel California came out of nowhere to hit 26 million shipments. It's never on the charts. Rumours is. So how does this all work. Do we honestly believe Rumours has not sold much more than RIAA says it has?
Same with Greatest Hits. |

They gave a bunch of albums extra sales because of streaming. That is why a bunch of albums jumped over Rumours. Its BS. Rumours dropped to number 11.

and nobody streams Rumours? Just seems hard to believe that with it regularly in the top 100 of albums, it has fallen behind. Am I to believe Hootie outsold Rumours? No way.

I think Greatest Hits albums should be in a different ranking. It is not fair to include them in the same competition as common albums.

As much as FM is the band of my life, in American culture, FM is Pepsi, and the Eagles are Coke. They won the battle.

I thought 'Rumours' had sold 40 million albums but maybe that's international sales.
It doesn't matter much, both albums are gigantic. |
