Default Ultimate Classic Rock Lead Article on Stevie Nicks & Work On Fleetwood Mac Album

Ultimate Classic Rock's newsletters appear in my inbox, and frequently have Fleetwood Mac articles/blurbs. Today's issue had their lead story that Stevie has not yet participated in the recording of the latest FM album. This, of course, is an off-shoot of the Rolling Stone interview with Mick that comes out today that many have already seen. While Rolling Stone chose to highlight Fleetwood's on Front Street's partnership with the Morrison Gallery and the term "Fleetwood Mac's future" in its headline, Ultimate Classic Rock was more direct in its lead headline...

There's already a thread.

Thanks for the link, Amy. I found the ranking of FM albums interesting... I would rank Behind the Mask higher than Say You Will any day. Of course, it's subjective, but Say You Will at best, sounds just like what it is - a collection of songs by LB and SN put on one CD. At least BTM sounds like an actual FM album. Ah, well.

While both albums are lackluster, I just can't digest "Behind The Mask". It's a hard, generic, and off brand pill to swallow. At least "Say You Will" has some fleeting moments of brilliance. "Behind The Mask" is like a bad issue of Soap Opera Digest. I equate the "Behind The Mask" lineup to:

Shelley Hack replacing Kate Jackson on "Charlie's Angels"
Jenilee Harrison replacing Suzanne Somers on "Three's Company"
Coy and Vance Duke replacing Bo and Luke on "The Dukes of Hazzard"
Bekka Bramlett replacing Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac
Gary Cherone replacing Sammy Hagar in Van Halen
Donna Reed as the "new" Miss Ellie on "Dallas"
Sheryl Crow replacing Christine McVie in Fleetwood Mac (WTF?!?)

I'm sorry, but if you try to REPLACE Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, or Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac, you might as well just call it something else and tour as the opening act for REO Speedwagon. It's clear, the only thing that existed behind that mask was pure mediocrity.

The BTM live act was incredible. They really jammed. Christine had a very nice piano solo, too.
