Yes, that's true. I have a bootleg compilation of outtakes & additional songs from BTM(2 CDs worth). I prefer listening to that rather than the album. There are quite a few Rick & Billy songs that never got on the album, but should have. Rick, especially got shortchanged. I do still generally like the album, mainly the Chris & Billy songs. The title track is fantastic. I also love "When The Sun Goes Down". I agree with everyone about the production problems, which I would blame on Greg Ladanyi.

It would be very nice to have just the two lead vocal tracks & the keyboard of "Do You Know," the finest song on the album, instead of all that pavement they laid on the song.

"Do You Know" is also fun to play & sing.

"Got No Home" has hit single written all over it!

I like the Christine/Billy background vocals on "Intuition" much better than Rick's solo version with Stevie's backgrounds. Nothing against Stevie's, just the BTM version's background vocals just seem to fit the song better. Stevie's vocals on Rick's song "Desiree" are perfect.

Do You Know was always my favorite song on the album. I had it completely linked with a love interest at the time. It still brings memories flooding back.

There's something odd about "Do You Know"... it's so pretty, and yet it comes across as terribly bland. I think, for me, it's lacking the vitality that Christine's songs nearly always have. But I'm not sure what could have made it a stronger song.

I certainly don't hate it though.

FM's take on "Intution" just doesn't do the song justice, IMO. It's not substantive enough.

At least in comparison to Rick's solo version, which has an eerie, haunting quality to it, that really stays with you long after the track fades out. And I think Stevie's backing vocals add to that feeling, in much the same way as they did on "Midnight Wind."

Either way though, it's a great song, and would have made a great addition to 'Behind The Mask.' As would have "Got No Home" (with better production).

I've never heard this album, but consider buying it from time to time. I was listening to a boot of the Manchester, UK show from the Behind the Mask tour recently and have had my curiosity roused once again. The songs they played from it on the tour did have a very generic early '90s AOR rock sound to them, so I dunno if I'd get much out of it, except that it would be interesting to hear Stevie's & Christine's songs.
