And the Dallas Taylor relationship was all kinds of wrong. It freaked me out a little when she was talking about it like this grand romantic thing. I'm pretty sure it's something you can get fired for.
no idea if she and Tom actually hooked up or not; neither has ever copped to it. But nothing, NOTHING, would surprise me. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek.

"you can't have him, I *do* have him, most of the time"

I always found this song slightly amusing given that she's said in interviews how she won't ever compete for a man..... this song sounds pretty damned competitive to me, especially that line.

I was under the impression this song was originally inspired by Monica Lewinski

Don't judge her! As a songwriter, she needed all the bed experiences she could get.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it and I don't think slut shaming is cute. Mick and Lindsey didn't exactly keep their legs shut either. Never Going Back Again is basically about a hook up.

I don't mind slut shaming as long at it's equal for men and women...

And believe me, both Mick and John are not innocent. Neither is Christine.

I agree, I just feel like sometimes a certain tone is taken when talking about women, particularly Stevie. I do get though she had quite a colorful relationship history, I even joke about it sometimes.

This thread has caused me to listen to this song on constant repeat the past couple of days. I can't help but love it, regardless of what it is about. It's such a jam!

Haha I've played it much more than that today alone! When I first heard the Say You Will album, I always overlooked it. Now, it's steadily becoming my favorite!

After the three boys liaisons with "Sweet Connie" I would say they are definitely not innocent!

Especially when she said Lindsey flew her out for it. It's not like she was just there, he actually had her flown out.

Overall basically a he doesn't really love you the way he loved me, and pssss...he still does that sure gotta piss you off.

I could be way off, but when you look at it through that lenses it's a pretty cutting song.
I believe somebody already said : Dear God ... indeed : DEAR GOD!
