Default Rest in Peace, Danny Kirwan

Sad news. From Fleetwood Mac's Facebook page:

DANNY KIRWAN
MAY 13, 1950 ~ JUNE 8, 2018
A TRIBUTE FROM
MICK FLEETWOOD AND FLEETWOOD MAC

Today was greeted by the sad news of the passing of Danny Kirwan in London, England. Danny was a huge force in our early years. His love for the Blues led him to being asked to join Fleetwood Mac in 1968, where he made his musical home for many years.

Danny’s true legacy, in my mind, will forever live on in the music he wrote and played so beautifully as a part of the foundation of Fleetwood Mac, that has now endured for over fifty years.
Thank you, Danny Kirwan. You will forever be missed!
~Mick Fleetwood and Fleetwood Mac

ALBUMS FEATURING THE WORK OF DANNY KIRWAN:
Then Play On 1969
Blues Jam at Chess 1969
Kiln House 1970
Future Games 1971
Bare Trees 1972

Unhappy :(

Devastated to hear this news as Danny is one of my fave FM members. I wish he could have gotten more help. We've had just WAY too much loss lately.

Oh, GOD!

I'm shaking as I type, so please excuse typos.

This one hurts...big time.

I didn’t realize that Danny was only 18/19 years old when he joined Fleetwood Mac. That’s interesting. He was actually younger than Lindsey and Stevie.

. . . true, true, true!

i've been living in fear of this moment for years on end . . . and now it finally happened. being a guitarist meself i owe so much to danny's influence: his exquisite playing, singing and - even more important - his remarkable feeling. he was, is and will always be one of my all-time fave blues guitarists of that era. ever since i learned about it, his sad story shook me real bad. what a great pity he never really recovered. heartbreaking news, indeed.

may you rest in peace, my dear soulmate!

Agreed. Going to play the '69-'72 series of albums as soon as possible and crank Jewel Eyed Judy as loud as I can.
