new song?

so that's 7. which means he has a choice of one song that he will pull out as a "deep cut". if your choice for that ONE song is IKINW then ok. because that is what you are saying.

if i had to choose between IKINW or WMYTYTO or WATL or the Ledge - my choice would definitely be one of those other 3. if it's IKINW or Tango or Come, i would have to think. if it's IKINW or NTF, probably i would want to hear IKINW. if the choice is IKINW or BTLH, my choice would be BTLH.

He can kill ISA anyyyyyytime as far as I'm concerned. Enough.

lol, well SNL that was a part of the sketch.

Letterman was during the dance era, 1997/98 - that's when BL done acoustically was still a novelty.

does anybody here monitor twitter when FM show is going on? LB is barely mentioned by name, until BL or ISA comes on. then there's an eruption of tweets about him being the greatest guitarist on the planet. you think he'll stop performing ISA??

I hope he never stops doing ISA. I've said it before and I'll say it agson - ISA isn't just a song, it's an experience. Its slow burn before ratcheting up in intensity and its length makes it less effective for appearances and guest spots, though. A truncated version wouldn't have nearly as much power.

yeah yeah I know…. but it still puts me to sleep. It's time to kill it. There are plenty of other songs that he could use to showcase his electric guitar god screaming solo capabilities and people would get off on those. They just like his great energy and drama on a "classic" style guitar solo. I get it. Just showcase it on something better. I admit I've never been a fan of the lyrics… they just seem so…. I dunno "I slip and I fall and I die" has always bothered me for some reason. You just click with some songs and not with others.

I agree won't happen. But I can dream…...

You aren't getting a new song in 2014, so don't count that as #7. Maybe we can revisit that question next year.

Also, he doesn't have to remove Big Love. He can just do it with the band. It will still get a crowd response and a burst of recognition and love.

Yes, IKINW is needed because it's one song that people respond to, even though they don't know it. It's a dance song and I assure you that people will talk about it on twitter.

Lindsey had 9 songs for The Dance and I think he can get 9 songs this time. For The Dance they were:

ISA
BTLH
Big Love
Go Insane
My Little Demon
NTF
Tusk
GYOW
Second Hand News

oh this would give him 4 songs that could be deep cuts, wouldn't that be amazing?? but he didn't even do that many last year... i guess maybe barely if you count NTF, SG, SA and EOTW.

and he insists on doing NGBA these days... i'd be happy if he dropped that one. even if we had 3 deep cuts, that would be spectacular! of course, i don't want to hear NTF, SG, or EOTW that we've heard last year, and i'm glad he finally dropped solos song GI. and i have no wish to hear MLD.

so you are saying we can have BTLH and WATL and WMYTYTO and Tango?? it will never happen but i'd happily take that! in fact i'd be ecstatic and start buying tickets for FM shows this year, even!

but nah, he's getting less adventurous in his old age.

If everyone got to pick Lindsey's 8 songs (if it is indeed 8), what would your dream list be? Mine-

NGBA
SHN
GYOW
ISA
The Ledge
IKINW
That's Enough for Me
EOTW

Well, I'm saying you can have two of those songs and I can have two of my choosing. I mean, do you want Tango too? We can share that one.

Yes, 8 sounds good because NTF for The Dance was actually just Mick's drum solo and I guess that doesn't really count.

Do away with NGBA, man it slows things way too far down. Goodnight, because-this-must-be-a-lullaby down. "So come down and see meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...(Zzz).. aaaaaaaa...(Zzz).. gaaaiiiiinnnn." Replace it with maybe Elle's WATL or SMAP during acoustic time. Or at least speed it up like originally recorded, damn! And hell yeah Tango! But does he have that lung capacity anymore? That's a pretty long O!

I despise the way he drags out NGBA in recent years. It completely drains the song of its buoyant energy; he picks the notes so slowly that if you didn't know better, you'd think he was a novice trying to learn the song. As for that "meeeeeeee" bit towards the end.... I know he soaks up the applause an audience feels obligated to give whenever an artist holds a note for more than six beats, but I've never been especially awed by demonstrations of breath control.

I'm not a big fan of IKINW either. I'd like to hear "That's Enough for Me."

They had a gut-wrenching talk and NGBA said to Lindsey: "It's not me, it's you."

Obviously, the song could sound pretty good, if he'd stop fooling around.

And right, it's not like the audience is applauding because he held a challenging note for a long time. LOL, Nancy: breath control.

Maybe this is the throw-away song he should start doing for radio shows and baby christenings.

I do agree he needs to go back to doing NGBA to the way it was originally performed. I always watch the Japan 1977 video and that's how I always think of it, not the way he's been doing it since then.
