That's very cool. I was scrolling down all the pictures and thinking "I'm glad there seems to be so many people turning up to show their love for John and then suddenly I get to pictures of Lindsey! When I was scrolling down I didn't expect to see him, but I don't know why he wouldn't have been there so I guess I shouldn't have been shocked.

Is there any news on what song(s?) he performed? I'm guessing one of John's songs. Was everybody there doing covers of his stuff? I'd love to have heard the whole night.

EDIT: I've just found this:

"Obviously, Lindsey Buckingham showed up - with a lovely version of "Lock All The Windows" and a blazing rendition of Gold with the band."

and this:

15. Lindsey Buckingham solo's on "Lock all the windows"
(unBELIEVEable!) and then does "Never goin back again"
and says how the style he used on that was learned from
John on the Kingston Trio albums.
16. The JS band return with Buffy and Shauna Morrison on vocals
and Lindsay leads them all on a kick ass version of "Gold"
which ROCKED! Russ Kunkel on congos.

I'd love to hear a recording of Lindsey doing this stuff (I can live without NGBA though). I doubt anyone will have recorded it since it was a tribute and it would take some nerve to do that to what looks like an intimate concert that is meant as a mark of respect for a well loved artist.

Thanks for posting this. That was lovely. I had imagined the Memorial in my head, but I envisioned a more funeral setting. I didn't think that it really was like a private concert. How fitting for John. There are some people pictured that I haven't seen in years and some I've read their names for years, but don't think I've seen photos of before.

I remember that Matt posted a link about the service which said, "Lindsey Buckingham did an emotional and hypnotic version of John's Kingston Trio song Lock All the Windows, which left room for only the proverbial pin-drop at its end. It was one of so many breath-taking moments during the service."

Looking at the pix, I don't know if Lindsey was in his (formal) brown T-shirt or if the lighting only made it look brown.

Thank you for putting up the link to the tribute. There's a monkey, an eagle and even someone lost in space. It's really amazing to see all these people together on one stage for John. History.

Yes, and although I know his brothers RFK, Jr. and Joe Kennedy when I see them, I didn't know what Max Kennedy looked like anymore and I do like to keep track of them.

The webmaster of the site that posted the pictures told me that they are working on a video, so we may get to see LB doing Lock All The Windows, NGBA and Gold

Thanks for the info. I look forward to seeing any of that show and if some of it's Lindsey then that's even better.
