Default A very obscure album Lindsey was involved with

I've been organizing my large volume of vinyl albums, and uncovering interesting items that have been completely off my radar for many years. One ot them is a album called 100% Whole Wheat, released in 1977.

I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, because I've never been clear about what it is, and I likely just listened to it once, many years ago. On the backside of the album it reads "100% Whole Wheat...were all successful members of other groups united together by respect for each other."

I don't recognize any of these names:

Blair Anderson
Michael Fleetwood
Jerry Field
Nick Pepper
Mark Seamona
Robert Morphis

It also lists a "A special thanks to "Session Sit-ins" who stopped by at the studio , and whose inspiration and talent contributed in making this album."

Aside from Glen Cambell, Bob Ezrin and Liberace, here are the following:

Fleetwood Mac - while mixing the number one "Rumours," took time to care, lent us equipment and helped make music.

Lindsey Buckingham - who plays, writes, sings and rescues groups from the ravages of the five string bango.

Weird! I plan on listening to it tomorrow.

I think Mick is on that album too. I don't know if our wetcamelfood knows about it.

No mention of Mick. Perhaps the inclusion of Michael Fleetwood could lead to a misconception.

Michael is Mick's true first name.

I just played the album. It sounds very familiar and derivative of famous bands of that era. Think of The Eagles, with a dash of Crosby Stills and Nash.

Some of the songs borrow so heavily - melody-vocals-lyrics - from some specific Eagles songs, I wonder if there was ever a legal case there. It's actually quite shameful how obvious it is! It's like they sat around and said "Let's take all the elements of Take it to The Limit, chop it up, mix it up and rearrange it. Hey! We got a song!"

By the way, the name Fleetwood is rather common. The Michael Fleetwood credited on the album contributes vocals and electric guitar!

The LB & Mick listings are false. If I recall Mick & Lindsey were going to sue them over this but they had broken up and gone bankrupt by the time it got to that stage so they let it go.

I got that album back when it was first released. (can you believe they actually released a Volume 2?)

Among the songs on the album, there are quite a few that set off "danger" alerts for serious plagiarisms. Since my LP's are packed away in storage, I don't have it to revisit, but I can easily recall one song being a blatant steal of the Eagles' "Take It To The Limit" (looking at the song titles, I believe it was "Love's Sweet Lies")

Edit: as PenguinHead already mentioned...had I bothered to read the entire thread instead of the initial post.

Yeah, I think Vol. 2 was a brown wood like cover, reminded me of the cover of the Chicago 5 (V) album. This was a real fly by night operation. Reminds me of those Dickie Goodman singles that would come out with sample clips of big hits on them then by the time the copyright holders were ready to move in they'd find the label had closed up shop without a trace. (DUN dun DAH!).

so maybe the title of this thread should be changed into "...lindsey was NOT involved with"?
