He apparently developed some kind of respiratory infection, and I caught it too late for antibiotics to be of any help. Birds are funny that way - they hide illness at all cost, for fear of being ostracized from "the flock," which is what would happen in the wild. And I've been assured it wasn't bird flu, thank goodness, so my lovebird Zorro should be fine.

I just wanted to honor Rocky in some small way, and there's no way more fitting than this thread. If only you all could have seen how happy he was to finally be allowed to stomp and dance all over my keyboard (after being told "NO!" so many times), you just wouldn't stop laughing.

I just re-read this thread, and am finally laughing again after a very tough couple of days. I hope you'll do the same, then go give your pet(s) extra hugs, kisses, and treats tonight.

I'm sorry, Chuck. I, too, loved Rocky. He was hilarious. R.I.P.

I am so very sorry to hear this. It's always hard to lose a pet and one that gave so much love and joy. I'm sure he was a very happy bird while he was with you. RIP.

I will, for sure, give my babies special kisses when I get home.

Oh, no. I'm really sorry to hear about Rocky . I lost my dog in February, so I know how much it sucks to have to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Sending good thoughts your way...

(And I can totally envision him having a ball after finally being allowed to dance all over your keyboard.)

Thanks - I looked it up on IMDB, and it sounds very interesting. I tried to watch March of the Penguins last night, but only made it halfway through. I realize penguins and cockatoos are very different, but it was just too soon for anything bird-related.

And Ken, sorry to hear about your kitty. I saw the pics in the other thread, and she (?) was beautiful.
