Default The Elevator Game... the sequel

In February I posted The Elevator game, where you were in a skyscraper and took the elevator to the top floor. In the elevator you meet a Fleetwood Mac member. It happens in the past so you can choose the year you want (Christine is included so it’s early 2022 or before). You got eye contact with this member and even interchange Good Evening salutes. Just you two are in the elevator, no one else.

You are all alone with this member within the elevator for several seconds. The first game was about asking something. This time the game is not a question. You TELL something to this member.

Rules are similar:
  1. There is only one member in the elevator.
  2. It’s NOT a question this time. It’s a sentence, based in an idea, based in a feeling, share him/her a moment related to your fandom to the band or a favorite moment/event, share something you think he/she would like to know, etc.
  3. I propose to choose a member you like, and tell him/her something positive, but it’s your decision. Keep in mind this a unique opportunity, and it’s the only member you will ever meet. But if you choose a member you dislike or are disappointed with, be polite and focus on constructive criticism, suggestions, etc.

Christine McVie. 1978.
‘Hey you, I think you’re stunning. Love your work. Wanna go out some time? Maybe I could slip my hand inside of your glove. Neat line, don’t you think?’

Obviously I’m meeting her at an appropriate age of my choosing. Rather than the 4 year old I would have been. That wouldn’t have worked.

Think I’d get a slap….but who knows? Might stick in her memory 😁

To Stevie Nicks in 1975: To save your voice for future performances, you should hire a vocal coach. Oh, and stay away from the cocaine. You'll thank me later.

Probably she wouldn't follow that second advice, so today she wouldn't remember she ever met you.

If you've ever stayed up until noon the next day, pretending that you're J. Edgar HOOVER, you'd have sense enough to know that she'd NEVER heed that advice.

To Lindsey…okay let’s cut all the c**p your room or mine.

Actually I have a scenario involving Lindsey…
He is on a train I catch, with three fellow musicians and he is playing an acoustic…
He helps me with my luggage at the destination…which just happens to be a beautiful Cornish resort…..and we chat.
He asks would I like to go for a meal that evening….
and then I’m asleep, I never never get any further, I never get to the restaurant even…. it’s a wonderful get to sleep method.
No counting sheep.

Stevie (1980):

Quote:
Why don’t you try writing a funny gimmick-type song, sort of like “Fish Heads” by Dr. Demento or “The Streets of Miami” by Alan Sherman? Or you could try writing a song based on another Jean Cocteau movie — Orpheus or Les parents terribles? Do something — ANYTHING — but another pseudo-mystical lather-blather song. You do enough of those already.

Bob Welch - 1978

Are you secretly crapping your pants and cursing yourself over the fact that the band you quit 4 years ago is now the biggest rock band on the planet making millions of dollars?

Stevie Nicks - 1986 and 1987

Girl, that concert film has already been shot. That's a wrap!

Re-shoots on a sound stage for "close ups" and "touch ups" with perfect hair and makeup are going to look ridiculous. The re-shoots are not going to match up with the rest of the concert film footage. Especially the shots with Fleetwood Mac.

Girl - let it go.

Lindsey Buckingham - 2002

Hey - you're making this WAY more difficult than it has to be. The solution is simple:

Say You Will is nothing more than two solo albums spliced together.

Mark Needham will mix Lindsey's songs for a solo album.
Chris Lord-Alge will mix Stevie's songs for a solo album.

Then, just splice them together.

You won't sell more than 500,000 units anyway.
Let's get out on tour where the real money is.

Oh, and by the way, Mick is right. You're not living in a one-bedroom apartment in Pacoima. Don't pretend like you don't need the money just for the sake of your art. The lifestyle that you've grown accustomed to is expensive.

John McVie or Christine McVie, any year from 1975 onward.

How much valium and alcohol does it take to be surrounded by these three egotistical drama queens?

Oh, and by the way, Mick is right. You're not living in a one-bedroom apartment in Bellaire. Don't pretend like you don't need the money just for the sake of your art. The lifestyle that you've grown accustomed to is expensive.

Pacoima. A far cry from where he lives.

https://goodmigrations.com/city-guides/los-angeles

Is Pacoima a good neighborhood?
Tucked between three major highways, Pacoima is a low key, working class neighborhood. Pacoima has an above average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for Los Angeles.

Is Brentwood a good neighborhood in LA?
Brentwood offers a good balance of quiet residential streets, local amenities, and good walkability in one of LA's most expensive neighborhoods. Brentwood has a low violent crime rate and a slightly above average property crime rate for Los Angeles.

And Mick was absolutely right.... Lindsey would never sacrifice his posh life for Pacoima for the sake of his art.

These are all so good, I can't think of anything at the moment. But, truly enjoying.
