Default Attending concerts with kids...

My 9 year old daughter asked me if I would take her with me to see Stevie next year. My little lady isn't obsessed with Stevie...yet...but she does like her and her clothes and other Stevie stuff. In all honesty she hasn't become obsessed with any singers or bands yet but she does want to go to a concert. I don't have a problem with her liking the Jonas Bros, Miley Cyrus, or Justin Biever... I sure enough had to get through my New Kids on the Block phase, but I'm NOT going to a teeny booper concert.

My kid isn't going to run around or pick her noise or anything like that. She will probably just sing along and dance, the same as her momma.

So did you see Stevie when you were a kid or have you been to a show with a kid? Have you been annoyed by someone else's kid at a show? Does it drive you crazy when you see kids at a concert? Is it to loud for a kid? Any thoughts from anyone? I am open to any suggestions. I don't want to spend the money on a ticket for her if it's not going to be fun for her...which means it will not be fun for me!

The first time I saw Fleetwood Mac I was 12 years old. I was so excited I couldn't stand it! Concerts weren't anything new to me, though. I grew up in Austin... the self proclaimed "Live Music Capitol," so my parents were constantly dragging me to concerts before I could even walk. But seeing Fleetwood Mac was MY first concert.

I can't even count how many live shows I've seen, and I honestly can't ever remember being annoyed by kids. I can think of plenty of times I was peeved by drunken ADULTS, though! If your daughter wants to go, you should absolutely bring her along! I think it'd be a great learning experience. I don't think there's a better place to people watch in the world than a concert, too. I think she could take home some life lessons!

My very first concert was Bruce Springsteen and the E street Band in 1975 when I was 13 years old. After the concert I met Bruce and Clarence and it was a memorable experience. Kids are never too young to enjoy a show IMO.

I saw Stevie for the first time when I was 9 and contrary to being annoyed, people LOVED that I was there. I had lots of people come up to me and give me the, "I love seeing such a young Stevie fan!" talk.

Bring her. Seeing Stevie at 9 literally changed my life and I consider that one of the best experiences of my life!

My first concert was Poison/Tesla at 12. I loved it. We were in nosebleeds, so I didn't get around too many people that would actually talk to us and stuff. On the flip side, I take my 11 year old to almost every concert with me. She begs to go see Stevie, and I'm gonna take her the next time. Her first real concert was when she was 9, and I took her to see Dave Matthews... the people there were so cool with her. There was a lady that was absolutely amazed that Sara was a fan, and sang and danced with her... asked her what her favorite Dave song was, and when they played it, she got all excited for her! It's been pretty amazing the response we get. I took her 2 years ago to see Petty, and she absolutely LOVED it! She likes Petty pretty well, though. So, all in all, Sara has seen Kenny Rogers, Dave Matthews 3 times, and Tom Petty. She still wants to see the Mac and Linkin Park. I'll take her to both next time they're in town.

Put a cute little top hat on her and then use her cuteness to get up front and shake Stevie's hand. KIDDING. Make sure you get her some earplugs and have a great time.

I agree with everybody here! She will be a delight to other fans and what a joy for her first concert to be a Stevie one! My first concert I was 10 years old and went to see The Allman Brothers Band with my mother, I'll never forget it I saw Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band last year and there were tons (and tons) of kids there. I'm sure for many of them it was their first show. Definitely take her to Stevie's '11 tour! I demand it!

Not Stevie, but I saw ELVIS when I was close to your daughters age.
And I wouldn't trade that concert for all the many great concerts I've seen
since then. So yes, take her. Just don't let her sing aloud like some of the
Nicks' fans do!!!

That pretty much sums up exactly what I was thinking, well except for the "kidding" part.

You guys are awesome. Look for two adorable (if I do say so myself) redheads in Atlanta. Off to buy top hats........

NOT KIDDING. Do this! It worked in Dublin, and the little girl got a big smile from Stevie. Wish I was young and cute enough to get away with that!
