Lindsey Buckingham

Continuing the theme from Rik Emmett, do not miss the chance to see one of the world's best guitarists and member of Fleetwood Mac. As part of Fleetwood Mac, their mega album Rumors has sold over 40 million copies due largely to Buckingham's creative contribution as writer, singer and guitarist. Although he is still part of Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham does not rest on his laurels during the down time and releases very solid solo offerings. In fact his Seeds We Sow album from last year was named our number 5 best album of 2011. "In Seeds We Sow Buckingham puts the spotlight directly on his guitar and vocal skills." Last time we saw Buckingham was in a very sold out Air Canada Center with Fleetwood Mac and this time we have the opportunity to enjoy Buckingham on his own at a much more intimate Casino Rama. Although not technically not in Toronto it is certainly worth the 2 hour drive north up Highway 400. Lindsey Buckingham is playing on Saturday September 8th at Casino Rama and tickets are available here.

incidentally, Rama is apparently the largest venue / biggest audience LB ever sold as a solo act >2500 and they keep opening new sections for sale and adding seats (audience of 10 000 from yesterday notwithstanding, considering yesterday was a part of the festival).

so, if he won't be able to add another leg to this tour, this show should be a nice one to close with.

Was heading out to meet sister and niece arriving here at Rama when to my amazement Lindsey pulled up to the front enterance in his SUV arriving from Ottawa from last nights show.
I introduced myself asked if I could shake his hand and took some pics.
What a nice guy.
And, get this we are on the same floor.

Doors open at 20:00.
Show starts at 21:00.
Probly really starts at 21:10 ish.

So just a quick recap of the events at Rama,

By pure chance I met Lindsey as he arrived at the venue,

Lindsey looked well, &, refreshed, after a relaxing 4hr drive from Ottawa,

Yes, we were on the same floor, but different ends, 721 v's 762, lol,

We had front row seats, F3, Row 1, Seats 1, 2, &, 3, (best in house other than those held for the "rollers"),

Show started @ 21:10, "Cast Away Dreams", sensational,

Lindsey was amazing, focused, talkative, and suffered no power outages, as per the previous night in Ottawa, (the Nations Capital, lol),

Crowd was very attentive, and appreciative, at times you could hear a pin drop, although there were a few enthusiastic members in the audience,

Security at Rama are very tough on vid's, &, pic's, so did not take any,

The crowd was held back from going forward to the stage until the encores, at which point 150 fans suddenly materialised in front of Lindsey,

After the show we met Lindsey at the meet and greet, we were the last three to meet him, he was very kind, and courteous, taking time to sign autographs, and pose for pics, (taken by the casino photog, no personal cameras allowed),

Lindsey declined our offer for drinks in 762 stating he was leaving right away to drive to Toronto to catch a flight back to LA, (oh well, there is always "next time"),

Just an amazing night, many people stated they were blown away by his performance,

thanks so much for your review... after all those snippets of no beer, no going to the stage or standing Os, it's nice to actually read your complete review and that in the end people did go to the stage, and that the whole last show didn't end up being a quiet affair.
