Poetry inspired the video for Everywhere
I was watching the video for Everywhere (which I like, by the way) and at the beginning there are some brief shots of the text of a book. I wondered if this was real text, so I googled what I could make out: "wind was a torrent of". Sure enough, I found that this was a poem by Alfred Noyes called "The Highwayman".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Highwayman_%28poem%29 And apparently, the book wasn't just some prop. They designed the video to follow the story of the poem. I thought that was neat. |

The Highwayman has always been one of my favourite poems, it was a real kick to see that the Mac liked it too! I'm a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe, so to hear that his work also inspired Stevie was cool. What can I say, great minds...
Though I'll never understand why they put Everywhere and The Highwayman together. There's absolutely nothing that I can think of to link them! Also -- do the band actually appear in the vid? |
