That WAS my conclusion. Too many people are overly Rumours-centric. It appalls me.

get real. In a 28 song-setlist I suggested two rumours-songs in the encores and one in the regular set. And that one is I don't want to know for g*ds sake.

YOUR MUSICAL-SETLIST COUNTED 8 FRIGGIN' RUMOURSSONGS!!!!!!! (incl. SS)That's practically the whole album!

Now please sir what the H*ll are you talking about! And i ask you again: look at my list and admit that that would at least be an inspiring setlist for the line-up themselves.

Besides the f***ing album, I mean the whole Rumours incarnation of Fleetwood Mac. It's musical pablum compared to the actual creativity of other incarnations.

....but it's the kind of music that the vast majority wants to hear. If people wanted to hear more bluesy type stuff, this conversation wouldn't be happening. Post '75 incarnation had the type of songs people wanted to buy and listen to....right place and right time. In some aspects, they are still listening to those songs that spanned from '75-'80. It's music that has lasted, and I dunno why you are so bitter towards that.

And someone's creativity shouldn't be compared to another's creativity. It's apples and oranges. If everyone had the same idea for a song, it would be one boring music industry.

Amen Curtis my friend. I've never understood all the rancor between fans of pre 75 and post 75. I love it All!!! But everyone's entitled to their opinion I guess.

I'm not entirely sure hwat the purpose of this setlist-revising exercise is, but if you're trying to come up with something creative and exciting, you're still going in the absolute wrong direction. I count only three songs on that list that weren't played on one or both of the last two tours. This incarnation of Fleetwood Mac has plenty of back catalogue that is completely ignored because of the way they do things on tour. How about Crystal as a duet, or The Ledge, or Book Of Love, or That's Alright, or Tango In The Night, or Everybody Finds Out, or a solo song OTHER than Go Insane or Stand Back? There are so many possibilities for an awesome and creative Mac setlist, even without "covering" pre-75 stuff (which I don't really think they ought ot be doing at this point).

Seriously. The post 75 incarnation of the band is what got me interested in them in the first place, back in 1978...(oh god 1978). I remember really listening to the Rumours album for the first time at a friends house and thinking this **** is good. So I went to the record store and bought both Rumours and Fleetwood Mac, thanks ma and dad . But while there I also noticed their other albums plus Buckingham Nicks. So I was back the next week buying BN and Bare Trees (I liked the cover) and the rest is history. I like all Fleetwood Mac albums with the exception of Time

Perhaps that's a bit harsh, as the Say You Will tour did include some very nice surprises. Still, for a band with a fiarly large catalogue, for them to go out on the road and play the same twenty songs in the same order every night for a year is just uninspired, and every fan has a right to be sick and tired of hearing some of the same hits over and over and over again.
Then don't go to the shows You know full well what your gonna get at a Fleetwood Mac show in 2005. I personally don't wanna hear Lindsey Buckingham sing Hypnotized, Oh Well etc. However I would not mind hearing Green do Oh Well. So Im gonna call up Mick Fleetwood and Im going to tell him the next Fleetwood Mac tour should be done in 2 legs. The first leg is anyone he can round up from the pre 75 days. Then the second leg would be the "classic" lineup of Mick, John (how f*****g great is this mans playing), Christine, Stevie and Lindsey. Also that the shows are to be requests only.

It's that ol' devil called "commercialism" (in this case, it's the turning away from grittier urban realism toward pop & the nagging overplay of multiplatinum songs).

It's also proof that "Fleetwood Mac" is dozens of different bands. It's time to start treating them -- not it -- as such.

I don't want to take out all of my pent-up rage on you speicifically, but well, I'm really sick of this kind of idiocy. It seems to be the stock response of people all over the Internet (and elsewhere in life) who just can't stand to see their favorite whatever spoken negatively in any way. In politics, you hear the same thing from Bush supporters directed against those who dare to speak ill of his policies: "Well, if you don't like America, go live someplace else." Which is an incredibly moronic and un-American thing to say, and it's just as illegitimate a comment in this context.

I sure do. And I don't like it, which is why I'm complaining about it.

Nor do I, which I think I also mentioned in my previous post.
