As I sit here listening to a vinyl copy or Rumours at what is probably neighbour annoyingly loud Db levels, I am praying that when UK dates ARE actually announced that i can afford the ticket price.
lucky irish,
I'm not a festival goer type so if the Mac played Glastonbury I'd be watching on TV lol.
Hoping for a manchester gig - nearest to me - But id be willing to travel to London if need be.

Yeah, I can't see them going all that way and restricting themselves to festivals only... There's too many people in the urban centres that would be marginalized... They have to play the cities.

I'm not a great festival-goer so I'm hoping this won't be their only Irish excursion.... How long a set will they play at a festival, maybe an hour? Not a full-length concert I imagine? (Correct me if I'm wrong!)

But still, this has put me on such a high and it gives us real hope that they'll do a full-blown Europe tour in the next year.

Peestie and MadnessFades, I thought of you guys in particular the second I heard! I hope this means we might finally meet?

200 euro for a ticket? Hell no.

But it's good news for Europeans, nonetheless.

How come you're not gonna go, Vanessa? I would have thought you'd be there in a heartbeat. You CAN'T miss the Mighty Mac playing so near to you!!

Nope, you are correct and right. The longest festival appearance Ive ever seen at an Irish fest was 3 years ago when The Who played for over 90 minutes, and even that was pushing it big time.

I'm quite hopeful they'll play the 02 in Dublin and the Odyssey in Belfast at least, if they di venture around these parts. Can't see them doubling up in Dublin though like they did for the SYW tour.. But ya never know!

Well, they sold out the Point both nights last time, but with the new design of the o2 and its larger capacity that might not be the case
I loved the Point venue, I really hope they haven't messed it up in this renovation!

They were here in November 2003, and Stevie's been here solo.
I'm seriously excited. Electric Picnic isn't the usual mental festival vibe. It's much more peaceful, surrounded by woodland. Truly magical

Sahara-Unfortunately, the 02 has changed the beloved Point quite dramtically. The sound quality isnt as good as it was. I know that's to be expected with a much bigger venue, but I've heard reports that if you are unlucky enough to be far down the back, then it's a strain to find out what songs are being sung, especially quiet ones. .. Gah, I loved the Point aswell. Hmm, maybe they'd chance the RDS?

I don't think I can justify spending 200 Euro for about an hour of music (as much as I'd love to). If they play any other Irish dates then I'll be there but at the minute it's not looking like I'll be going to see them at EP. I guess I could have a change of heart but it's not looking likely

I've been to the Odyssey. Don't they have a smaller theater type hall in the same complex? Either way it's a beautiful venue.

Been there as well. Where would they play though? Maybe I'll have to head over if they do both Dublin and Belfast.
