Soundstage dvd arrived yesterday...

I apologize if this has already been posted, I scanned this forum and did not see anything...

My soundstage dvd arrived yesterday. The two bonus songs are cool but they do not seem to be as tweaked as the rest of the show, IMHO. "I am Waiting" was pretty and the guitar he played during that song was beautiful. The extras seemed ok to me, there were tons more audience shots, a few more speeches..a long poem before Go Insane, a Big Love speech that made Lindsey cry

... but nothing that blew me away.

Did you order from PBS? Figures. I ended up cancelling mine because I had to wait so long. Was anything else different?

Yes, I ordered from PBS. I got an email that it was backordered and expected to be shipped on Nov. the eighth. I was pleasantly surprised it arrived yesterday. It was sad when Linds started crying talking about the irony of Big Love nowadays...when he mentioned his beautiful house on the hill, it made me tear up! That beautiful view is gone.

Ah well, maybe the new place has a nice view, too.

So Big Love was the same as it was on the PBS special shown on TV?

I was wondering if the show on the DVD had been edited differently. I think that I will never see either verson of Soundstage at this rate.

Do you mean what he was playing on it was beautiful, or the guitar was beautiful-looking?

It was a rather large white guitar that looked old. People opined it was a Strat. Not knowing guitars, I could not tell you if that was a correct assessment. Goldie could though.

Both actually but I was referring to his guitar. It was pretty cool looking but I know **** about guitars so someone else will have to describe.

Patty, it was the same version of Big Love but he added some talk onto the dvd. No dedication persay just how the words to Big Love had taken on a sense of irony to him nowadays..then he teared up and said "you all should know this one" and started the song.

I preferred the blurb of IaW that we heard on DR...personally I think the song sounded better with both SnL but it was still nice to hear something new.
