Thanks! I just wish I had more time to do the site justice. It's been suffering as I pursue my doctorate, unfortunately.

I actually find it painful to watch. Poor Lins, he gets an "E" for Effort at least.

I think for an avant-garde thing, it was okay. My problem was the original song is so pretty and melodic and LB's was horrifyingly the opposite of that (which could be why you like it) and I just cannot take it when he sings like that - it is just bad to these ears. But - to each their own.

Jason...I completely agree with you. It is cringeworthy to watch/hear. What a way for Liddy to start off the new year. Poor thing.

The discussion about Mick's drumming, two pages back, is so interesting. Why is Steve hidden? Is he really doing the bulk of the tough stuff? Steve is now working on Stevie's solo tour but not as a drummer. I was wondering why she auditioned and hired a brand new guy when she is familiar with and knows Rinkov. So many other Mac backing members joined her solo band....I find it sort of bizarre.

OH thanks for the heads Up, strand . And Nancy: you deserve a medal for having the guts to do this, while you know it's widely hated: I think it is one of lindsey's Finest Moments.

The band jamming on "Not That Funny" or "The Chain" in the 1982 show is not "drugs." It's energy, commitment, musicianship & confidence.
Thanks for making that point! Also, could the energy displayed in the Mirage concert video also be attributed to another factor -- youth?! They were a few decades younger then!!

I think most everyone agreed that you couldn't attribute their energy level to just drugs. but that it did play a part. I also said that youth played a part. i think the drugs played a part because it lowered their inhibitions and made them more manic or theatrical. It all boils down to talent and dedication, but nobody can really deny that they were more frenzied back in the day. And, they admitted to using (although Lindsey has been more sketchy about it) so I have to think it's not that hard to do the math and see that drugs played a part in their performances.
