Default Wiltern set list - same old ,same old or ???

Any speculation as to what we are in store for ?

I was so looking forward to hearing some of the new stuff at Vegas, and am now having second thoughts about making another cross-country flight to see the same old songs. Don't get me wrong, I bought my tickets last week even before heading to Vegas, and were it a more local concert I would go no matter what the set list was, but.......

Will the Wiltern Show be any different ? We were led to believe that the cancelled Webster Hall show was to be an exclusive intimate show ( i'm thinking new music, kick off new album)

If Stevie had some of the new material ready for Webster, was it intentionally held back from the last two shows so that it can be debuted at Wiltern ? Or is none of the new material ready and this show just a tease as well ?

I think it's gonna be new stuff. Dave said so on Twitter and Stevie's got a pretty free week to practice.

I would find it very, very odd if the Wiltern show was just like any of the other H&S or casino shows. I mean, if Stevie wanted to just play her standard set somewhere, a) she would have booked a larger/more conventional setting, e.g., Greek Theatre, Universal Ampitheatre, Santa Barbara Bowl, etc. and b) it would have simply popped up on Ticketmaster like any other show. No fanfare. Not only is this an extraordinarily intimate setting on an extraordinary day, it is being billed as a "celebration" of sorts, and it was very heavily promoted via her Warner Brothers site. Something is up. Honestly, she could have performed this type of show or series of shows anywhere in the country. But there is a reason why she chose NYC or LA- the industry. Given the ticket prices and the capacity, I certainly do not think she is doing this for the money- the total gross is probably less than half of her customary take. If anything, after overhead, salaries and comps, I suspect she will either break even or even be somewhat in the red. There is another reason for doing this...

All I can say is... be prepared to be surprised. (I know nothing specific... it's just a gut feeling.)

Default star-studded party?

so the NYC show was supposed to be a party that WB threw for SN. and after the show was cancelled there were stories of star-studded party, and sheryl and dave both said they were supposed to be there.

i'm surprised that i'm not seeing any speculation whether the LA bday show will be similar... any thoughts?

maybe SN set will perform several new songs, and the rest of the show will be somewhat like AHI?

At least we have the tweet from Dave saying he will be there and will play new songs.
That alone is good news! I was thinking/hoping it's going to be a Stevie & Friends or AHI type show, fingers crossed!!!

I'm prepared if the show is somewhat like her shows this past year or two, but I will just be beside myself with pleasure if we get something crazy like........the entire IYD !!

I also think this will be a very special show. It will probably be filmed and I also wonder if Dave will unveil any of his film/documentary?

I think you'll get the same tired setlist, with a handful of new songs (5-6). I hope I'm wrong.

I hope that Dave not only showed Stevie how to approach recording a record in a different way, but also a different way to present her live show. It would be great if he had a huge influence on her set list -- not only with her new songs, but her back catalog (songs she's never performed before, or hasn't in a long time). I wish it's a radical change.

By the way, they just showed a glimpse of Stevie (waiting to perform) on Dancing with the Stars. She looks cute, sweet and youthful!

This is what I'm guessing, too. Maybe 4 classics ("Landslide," "Rhiannon," "Dreams," "Stand Back"), 5-6 new songs and "Love Is."

This is exactly what I was going to post. That's the degree she'll mix it up to, if she does at all. Hopefully in the next week she'll get better, or it might be even worse.

I met Sharon (a couple of times) and she said they were doing 5 new songs at the Wiltern. So that bodes well.

Tell Sharon to put a little fire under Stevie to do that all summer, too!
