I agree that the Otis Spann album is wonderful, but contrary to what most of the people believe, "Temperature Is Rising" as Danny Kirwan on lead guitar , rather than Peter.

Stay Green,

Mario.

Yes, that's right. From what I remember, Peter and Danny share the solos pretty fair during the album, and it's Danny we hear on TIR.

Yes,

Fleetwood Mac's records will be available on May 18 2004.

Here nothing new, they are just the same ones available on the 6cds Box Set

Question

Hi
Will the FM releases have the album tracks in their correct order with the bonus tracks following them or will the track order be the same as the box set?

Thanks
Chuck

As far as I'm concerned, they are just as the same as those available on the Box Set, tracklisting including, only sold separately.

Mario.

Hi Mario,

I listened to that album yesterday and I still think it's Peter playing the intro and the solo in "100,2°F". The lead guitar is on the right channel and sounding very "greeny". The excellent rhythm guitar on the left I thought is Danny. Just as on the first track "My love denpends on you", which has definitely a PG solo. I don't think they played around with the stereo effect on this recording as the album was recorded very "straight".

No matter who plays what, an excellent album anyway.

Roland

I know I'm getting back into this dicussion kind of late, but I just listened to the Otis Spann album yesterday (first time in awhile), and I agree that it is Peter playing the solo and lead on "Temperature Is Rising", and that he plays lead on most of the tracks - all but one or two as I recall. As you note, I think it's very easy to distinguish between Peter on the right channel and Danny on the left. But as you also note, it's a great album regardless. My only criticism is that the piano too often gets lost in the mix - surprising in that it is Otis Spann's album after all!

Yes but the track I was taking about is "Temperature Is Rising 98.8" which isn't on the actual album as it was issued as 45.

I think here Danny played lead guitar.

Thanks for pointing that out, Mario - I didn't realize that was the version you were referring to That's what I get for joining this particular discussion so late and not reading through everything! I listened to the "98.8" version of the song today, and I'm sure you're correct that Danny played lead on that. His tone and vibrato are very distinctive.

Seems like all releases except the Martha Velez CD has been released by now.
The Blue Horizon sessions website is down, and Seymour Stein has launched his own Blue Horizon venture releasing new bands (such as the Black Angels).
So - the inevitable question, Are the Complete Blue Horizon Sessions over and out by now? Anybody here that knows?
