Can someone please post this?

There are many bootlegs where she says "Drive Home Safely". I'll try to find one this weekend & post it.

Woman cracks me up. I just listened to my copy, though, and I didn't hear the "drive home..." thing. ??

If somebody hasn't posted it by tomorrow, I'll post it. I have dial-up, so it takes me a bit of time to upload it. Actually, both "Don't Stop" & "Songbird" should be posted. She talks quite a lot before both songs. She was very confused.

I don't think I have "Don't Stop", so I'll leave that one to Mary Anne!

Thank you soo much!

That was funny

But what "tragic event" was she speaking of, before starting the song?

I've come to this thread late but I agree with MacFan57. I think Chris pulled "Songbird" off perfectly almost every time she sang it. The only version I haven't liked was the one at the end of the Tusk Tour doc, where she's a bit out of tune. LOVE the one at the end of the Japan show in 77. The Dance version, however, is, I feel, a true trumph: she sounds better than ever there.

Browneyes, I agree "Drive home safely" is fabulously campy. It reminds me of those "thank yous" and "Oh your wonderfuls" Dionne Warwick used to insert in between verses of her songs.

Here's "Don't Stop" from 1984 Jackson. Listen to what she says when she introduces the song. That's a funny name for a town....I'm really intelligent aren't I?.... There was an accident in the amusement park sometime before this show. By the way, there were several people killed in a Haunted House fire. That's the tragedy that she's referring to.

Here's "Songbird" from 1980 Atlanta. Listen closely to her little speech just before she sings. By the way, this bootleg is a soundboard & is of fantastic sound quality.

Oh my God!! She's so cool! I can't believe she'd just come out with that at the end of a song like _Songbird_. It's so sweet and sort of sad, and then... *shakes head* You ROCK, Christine!!

And I voted for The Dance, because it was like she was saying "Goodbye" for real, it was so sad...

Well, mine would be fron the 10-8-1997 show at Target Center in Minneapolis. At the end she says "Have a great winter, a great Christmas, and a great life." Still tears me uup to this day when I listen to it.

LOL. Mary Anne, she's so cute! Thanks for sharing these. I never took note of the date until now, but the Jackson show was same date as my birthday!
