Default Question for You All

My first thread in the Christine forum

Anyway, I was listening to "Wish You Were Here" and have come to the conclusion that the intro and the intro to "Silver Springs" live sound almost exactly the same - am I insane??

You might be insane, but not because you think those two intros sound alike. They are very similar, with Chris striking a bass note & letting it sound & playing rolls in the right.

They're not exactly alike but they're very close.

At the time, Silver Springs was not particularly well known right? She must have thought she was going to get away with it!

Aren't these just triad inversions?

You know, they do sound a lot alike. I wouldn't have thought about it until you mentioned it. I haven't heard "Wish You Were Here" in a while!

It was noticed on the old FM newsgroup at the time. In fact, the first few times I listened to the CD, my thought was that they were about to break out into WYWH.

Oddly enough, when I heard "World Turning" in 1990, I thought they were going to break into "Why." Talk about disappointment!

Who are you referring to as "she"? And WHAT was "she" trying to get away with?

Dude, I was so baked out of my GD skull that summer that I'm surprised that I even remember "The Dance," far less any of those discussions. I remember there was the "Silver Springs"/WYWH discussions, the "Angel"/"Sweet Girl" discussions, and the BTLH/"You Do Or You Don't" discussions. That, and the "Oh, Stevie looks and sounds SOOOO much better..." discussions.

You bastard. You know you love "Derelict" & you sing it at all the hockey games & even standing in line at the bank.

Does anyone really stand in line at the bank any more? I do all my banking online or at the ATM. Going inside a bank is dangerous because that's where the robbers generally go.
