Christine to be interviewed on Steve Wright show Thursday 29th
Steve Wright has just trailed an interview with Christine on his BBC Radio 2 show tomorrow. His interviews are usually good fun.

Having so much promotion on a national broadcaster has really helped the BuckVie cause.

Nice interview, very upbeat. No new ground covered. Steve Wright pushed the album very hard for her - really praised it, called it a great album and said 'you can't go wrong with it'.

It's great that the BBC has been such a supporter of this album - I haven't paid much attention to the chart statistics in the UK, but I'm sure all this attention will have given the record a big boost. It's been album of the week on Radio 2, and both 'In My World' and 'Red Sun' were record of the week too. 'Red Sun' in particular just sounds great on the radio.
I just re-watched Christine's performance of 'Songbird' on the Ken Bruce show, and I really loved it. I know a lot of people have been critical of her voice, and doubtful that she is playing much at the live shows, but I think she does a great job of both here. As much as it is painful to admit that our heroes are getting older (I'm getting older too - isn't there a song about that, somewhere?) I think we have to take this into account as we watch and listen in 2017 and beyond. There is a real courage and strength in what they are doing, showing their vulnerability and laying themselves open. It's a tough, scary thing to get up in front of hundreds of people and perform - I know a lot of older actors, and they all say that it gets scarier and harder the older you are, regardless of how much experience you may have. So, Christine, I salute you! Long may you continue! |
