With regards to the labour discussion.. I fully intend to have children, and can't wait to experience pregnancy and birth. I'm studying towards becoming a midwife and I'm a huge believer in women's strength and the power of our own bodies.
So yes.. one of those weird people who relishes the idea of pushing a small person out of their nether regions!

Apparently it happens a lot.... because that's the kind of "push" you're supposed to be doing. That would be MORTIFYING.

I don't think I'd care if I felt like a watermelon was coming out of my vag

It truly IS mind boggling, that a 10lb baby, can come out of that tiny hole. I can't begin to IMAGINE how much that must hurt. Egads.

Completely agreed.

Labor freaks me out in general. I mean, are you the same down there post-baby? I've heard mixed reviews on that.... I'm wincing just thinking about it.

I watched my daughter come out of her birth mother's vagina. I can't imagine it's ever the same.

I'd rather get a c-section honestly and skip the numerous hours of lying there in pain, then trying to push it out.

I agree, I think it's one of those natural, beautiful things, and I am one of those weirdos who wants to experience it too.
I would really hate to have a C-Section.
But I think I would be for drugs, bring them on, man! ..yes, I am willing to use 'toxic western medications to drug my baby for my own selfish comfort.' But I guess if you have a epidural you might not be able to feel yourself poop, and I don't know if that would be more or less mortifying?

I don't know, you got whole human beings popping out of you and 3-5 people staring at your vag, I think however much poo finds its way out in the process is the last thing anyone is going to care about.

You have a point. Gosh, 3-5 people that's kind of freaky.
I don't know how people have 15 others in the room with them. I would want it to be be between me & my man, and perhaps my mother. And of course the doctors. THAT'S IT. No news crew, please. Lmao.

Thank you, Nikolaj for your kind words. My husband and I do the best we can.

I can't speak for everyone. but I can tell you I was in Severe pain! My due date wasn't for another 3 and a half weeks. I couldn't get anyone to believe that I was in labor! Our car was in the shop, so we had to call an ambulance to get to the hospital. Even the EMTs didn't believe I was in true labor. It wasn't until I got to the hospital that I was believed. The nurse took one look and announced that I was already dialated 10 cm. Then, because I was so far along, they wouldn't give me any painkiller!! It's a good thing I only wanted one child. I would have never been able to go through that twice!

Yeah, there's no way. A woman's body in general, I think, can't be the same....including those who have C-sections.

From what I have been told, the first time giving birth is the worst, after that, it is a bit easier. Having a female doctor after the first delivery made a big difference for my sister. The first time she had a baby, the male doctor actually argued with my sister when she was in about her 12th hour of labor, telling her she was the most difficult woman he'd ever encountered in his life. He's lucky to still be around
