Default Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby

I've decided to see this movie today after watching Ebert and Roper's 2 thumbs way up review of it. The trailers I've seen make me think this might be his funniest movie yet. And you all know what a big fan I am of Anchorman. Anybody seen it yet? Reviews?

I've been quoting it for the past week, esp: "Tom Cruise, use your witchcraft to put the flames out!"
The scene with the knife will have you in tears.
I'm going to see it again next week.
Is it really? Promise?

Not to be a downer, but my dog died this morning- my parents called me to tell me that someone ran her over in the street today. I've never lost a dog, and so I've been sobbing all day at my desk. I was thinking of making my boyfriend take me to see this to cheer me up, but I was worried it wouldn't be that good and would only depress me more.

Ricky Bobby is great. I don't know if it will completely cheer you up though, but it may help get your mind off it as it's so lightweight and silly. It doesn't have as many insanely funny moments as Anchorman but the story hangs together much better, so overall it's probably a better movie. John C Reilly and Sasha Baron Cohen are fantastic in it. And its worth seeing just for the kiss at the end.

I am really sorry about your dog, Hales.
Oh, I will totally see it on your recommendation. I love the Will Ferrell movies so much that I'm actually always worried about seeing them- I never want to be disappointed.

Thanks, Sharon (and David and Paula!) about Piper. She was a great dog, and I'm pretty upset. What can you do. She had a great ten years.

Did you ever see Anchorman: the legend of Ron Burgundy?
