Default Favorite cover of a Fleetwood Mac song?

I hate covers of FM songs because, well I just do! But then again they might be FM fans, just like me, who wants to sing one of their songs. I mean, if I ever became a famous singer I would put tons of FM covers on my albums! But I really don't like most Mac covers. Maybe FM is just too good and no one is better? I Especially despise the Dixie Chicks doing Landslide! So, that is my least favorite.

My favorite, however, is GYOW by the Cranberries. What is yours?

Matchbox 20's Never Goin' Back Again. Followed closely by The Goo Goo Dolls' I Don't Wanna Know and Hole's Gold Dust Woman.

Aarrghh... dudes. Anything from that Rumours Tribute is a travesty.

My favorite covers, at least the ones I can thing of, are I Know I'm Not Wrong by The Gourds, Storms and Save Me a Place by Camper Van Beethoven, and Gold Dust Woman by Hole. The Chicks' version of Landslide is pretty cool.

i most certainly agree, especially about the Corrs' Dreams... i still cringe every time i hear it on the radio, simply appalling. (luckily, on this corner of the world we are relativly protected from the horror that is the dixie chicks' Landslide).
as for Courtney, one can either love or hate her, but the woman's a true rockn'roll spirit, and she's doing justice to this song, you can hear she's getting the "nicksian vibe" there.

Sister Hazel's GDW rocked IMO. I saw them play it live and they were great. But, that is about it for that record IMO.

Gerald, I'll be glad to. I have it on a disk somewhere. I will find the disk, copy it to the computer and e-mail it to you. Remind me in a couple of days if you don't hear from me. Who knows? Maybe I'll throw something else in there.

I love covers...here are a few that I've compiled (and weeded out)to eventually burn onto a CD-R or two...or three (ha! My FMac covers box set) :

The Chain - Kick Axxe
Dreams - The Corrs
Everywhere - Chaka Khan
Looking For Somebody - Snowy White
Hypnotized - The Pointer Sisters
Oh Well - Billy Sheehan
Rhiannon - Pamela Stanley
Second Hand News - Tonic
Gold Dust Woman - Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson
Think About It - Rusty Weir
Landslide - Dixie Chicks
Crying In The Night - Firefall
Never Going Back Again - Matchbox 20
Dust - $50 Bucks
Don't Let Me Down Again - Rusty Weir
I Don't Want To Know - Goo Goo Dolls
Green Manalishi - The Melvins
World Turning-Leo Kottke
You Make Loving Fun - Cyndi Lauper
Stand Back - Rod Stewart
Man Of The World - Justin Hayward
Rattlesnake Shake - Aerosmith
Go Your Own Way - The Cranberries
Don't Stop - KC & The Sunshine Band
Lola (My Love) - Rusty Weir
Stop Messin' Round - Gary Moore
Black Magic Woman - Santana
That's All For Everyone/The Chain (slight return) - Those Bastard Souls
Songbird - Eva Cassidy
Albatross - Ottmar Liebert

I didn't include songs done by Fleetwood Mac members, for example:

I Loved Another Woman - Rick Vito
Homework - Rick Vito
all the PGSG live covers
Bob Welch's solo covers of his own Fleetwood Mac material

a love the Camper Van Beethoven Tusk remake - the only FM cover to stay true to the spirit of the band's creativity. Everything else is embarrasing.

That's a very impressive list, ChiliD!!!

Thanks, I don't know a lot of them.

Did Judas Priest cover Green Manalishi on one of their (if there are more then one) live-albums?

I thought so... heard it once...quite impressive...

Gypsy, by "home", from the Patron Saints cd (Gourds are great too, there)
it's just very quirky and weird, I love it.

Closing My Eyes, by Naked Blue, on "Rattlesnake guitar - the music of Peter Green"

Stop Draggin' My Car Around - Weird Al Yankovic

Hole's "Gold Dust Woman." It's the only cover that adds something new to the song and succeeds. I love Chaka Kahn's "Everywhere," too.
