Default Fan Mail?

Is it still possible to write a letter to Stevie and that she actually reads it? Or perhaps someone reads it for her and gives the really good ones to her? Or does she not read at all?

It is too bad that she doesn't use social media because that would be a great way to interact with her fans!

Unfortunately, there's no official channel to get fan mail to her anymore.

From the mid 80's to the late 90's, she had a official 'mail lady' named Ginny Kamano who handled fan mail. The mailing address in Alhambra, California could be found in Stevie fanzines (remember those?!) from that time.

If you sent in a Stevie photo and a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope - again, remember those?!) you would get the picture back signed and inscribed to you by Stevie in gold ink, along with a written thank-you note from Ginny. A friend and I were able to get signed pictures that way.

Or when Barbara Nicks was still around and running her Silver Spring Emporium, fans could send mail to Stevie in c/o of SSE.

You can try writing in care of manager Sheryl Louis. I'm sure you can find her office address online. Whether it then gets to Stevie and she reads it - who knows?

Within the last few years she said in an interview that Karen lays out several pieces of mail on her bed every night. She reads them and stuffs them into her journal for that day. I don't know where they are sent that Karen gets them but I have a feeling that she pre-reads them before choosing which go to Stevie every night. Maybe Karen writes them herself ala Sunset Boulevard.
