Me too! Can you imagine?! I wonder if this song even stands a chance?

I would love for her to get nominated. But the song didn't get airplay. Aren't songs that are nominated for an Oscar usually big hit singles?

There is a LOT of media buzz about the possibility.http://963kklz.com/2017/12/20/stevie...in-oscar-2018/

I think the song could win based on the fact that Stevie seems to have been on an upswing for sometime as far as popularity with the media. I feel like the time is right-like the song might win based on the fact Stevie really hasn't won that many awards and it would almost be like a "lifetime achievement" award. I know the award is for the writer, but Stevie's name could bring them the win.

While we are on the topic, does anyone know when this will be available on iTunes without having to buy the whole stupid soundtrack?
And as a side note, they obviously did this because they thought enough people would buy the whole soundtrack to make it pay off not to offer Stevie's song separately. Did any of you buy the whole soundtrack??? Kevin |

I bought the entire soundtrack from iTunes upon release since I wanted to have "Your Hand..." in reasonable quality. I have searched since for a cd copy but one doesn't appear to have been released.
Stevie's vocal performance on this track is stellar and the production impressive, but ultimately some of the lyrics let the song down. Strangely enough, the lyrics oscillate from insightful to cringe-worthy and in my opinion, could have easily been written by Stevie herself. With regard to the song scoring an Oscar nomination, I view it as possible since none of the contenders seem to have been noteworthy hits but I doubt it could actually win. A strong performance at the ceremony would do wonders for her image but if she actually won, well her ego would be exponentially bolstered. The stuff of nightmares... |

Even if this song got an Oscar nomination, which I guarantee you, is not going to happen, but if it did the award would not go to Stevie. Oscar for best original song goes to the writers.

That is true, as Stevie did not contribute to the writing of the song, she would not technically be nominated nor could 'she' win an Oscar, but there's no doubt she would attempt to take credit for a potential nomination/win. She'd get her mug in at every opportunity and capitalise on any available hype - if she could parlay an opportunity into dollars, she wouldn't hesitate.

If Stevie would not technically win the Oscar if nominated, why have dozens of news outlets reported she could win an Oscar? I'm confused.
