Default New Star Wars Looking Good

I haven't seen one of the new movies.

But this one looks good...what does everyone think?

I can't wait to see this one! I thought the last two were pretty bad. I understand that a lot of Episode one and two was boring because they had to tell the story, but I really didn't enjoy either one of them. I don't think I even finished watching Episode Two.

I DOES look pretty good. It's funny that you mention this because I just watched the previous Star Wars ("Attack of the Clones") today to get up to speed for the new one. I'm kind of surprised, "Attack of the Clones" didn't completely suck... it was actually pretty entertaining. It took me a while, but I think I'm finally starting to understand the convoluted plot of the new Star Wars movies.

I agree. This one does look good. I saw Episode 1 and thought it was boring so I didn't even bother to see Episode 2. I still don't know if I'll actually go to the theater to see this one though.

I guess I'm a strange one because I am a huge fan of both trilogies-- I agree Episode 1 was kind of boring, but I found episode 2 to be a lot more interesting (but then again, I am a chick who enjoys love stories.) Janet, I would definitely check out episode 3, it is destined to be the greatest of the 3 new ones-- and the most depressing. Me and about 7 of my coworkers are getting tickets and going together at midnight.

I enjoyed both episodes 1 and 2 - though I hated Jar Jar - and I am disturbed by the use of technology in the first movies...I know there is more technology available with which to film today...but how did they go from battle droids and crazy ass ships to what they have in eps. 4-6? Am I making sense?

Anyway - I'm totally looking forward to Ep. 3 - but not as much as I'm looking forward to Harry Potter

I can't wait for Episode III. Hayden Christiansen looks absolutely smoldering...but we've discussed this before on a previous thread. I can't wait for the final showdown between Anakin and Obi Wan. Can't wait to see Anakin kick Obi Wan's ass. Have I mentioned I can't stand Ewan MacGregor? Plus I hear that Yoda gets another fight scene

I'm anxiously awaiting it! From everything I've seen so far, this is definitely going to be very dark, but it'll be an excellent ending to this trilogy, and should go smoothly into Episode IV. Being a Star Wars fan since the first film debuted, I've seen all the films so far. The first of this trilogy did have some interesting details and scenes, (finding our Anakin had no father, and the 'death' of Qui Gon Jin, and also seeing that both Obi Wan and Qui Gon were also a bit rebellious, ie, neither were perfect jedis).
The second was a lot better, IMO. Seeing the very beginning of Anakin's fall to the dark side, (slaughtering a colony of sand people, stating one day he would be the most powerful jedi...even more powerful than Yoda and marrying Padme), finally seeing Yoda in a lightsaber duel, learning the origins of Boba Fett, and seeing how what would eventually become storm troopers were created.
With Empire being my favorite Star Wars film, I'm very curious to see if ROTS will change that.
Here's to hopefully being at the midnight showing opening night one last time!

Simple: George Lucas is an idiot.

Or I guess you could say that the Empire destroyed all the cool stuff and stayed with their big, hulking, pizza slice shaped ships instead.

I've heard is quite violent and very dark, with some shocking scenes. At least it sounds more interesting than the first two.

I guess everything gets it's ass kicked so bad, that even the technology is effected.

Oh, darling, I agree on all counts. Ewan gets on my tits so much, I can't wait to see him get his ass whooped. I'm just mad that I'm not the one to do it. I'm not exactly a big Star Wars fan, but this new one looks really, really good. Mr. Christensen is so yummy yummy screw that I'd watch him in anything. I even thought he was yummy in Life As A House with blue hair and thumb tacks in his face. And Yoda is too cute for words, man.

I don't think I'm giving anything big away here (not even sure how extensively they go into this fact, in the actual movie), but the Clone Wars and the massive "Jedicide" that occurs, puts the galaxy into a "Dark Ages" type period... causing technology to take a major hit. From there, the Empire sees to it that the "common-folk" will never rise above their station in life, by making sure they only have rudimentary ships and weapons.

So, in episodes 4-6, the characters are basically scratching and clawing their way out of those Dark Ages, having to rely on what little they have left.

For some strange reason, Ewan doesn't do a thing for me in the Star Wars flicks... but, in every other movie he's been in..... hummuna-hummuna-hummuna.

Yucky. The only movies I've liked him in were Shallow Grave (that flick is so disturbing ) and Moulin Rouge (even if he oversang everything to the point where I clawed at my ears). I think he's icky and a rather annoying actor. I'm sick of seeing his wang in most of his movies, one of these days they're going to have to give it a best supporting actor award. He made a movie with Christopher Lee that's a sequel to "The Wicker Man" and it's not getting released because it's so pornographic.
