Arrow Back to the topic...

My top ten Christine songs would be:

1. Why - My favorite Fleetwood Mac song of any era, and possibly one of my favorite songs ever. Just so beautiful.

2. Brown Eyes - How much can six lines express in one fantastically arranged bluesy tune. My fave song from the Rumours lineup.

3. Songbird - My favorite song from the Rumours album. Solemn, and a fantastic anthem.

4. Come A Little Bit Closer - I love the orchestra arrangements, and fo course Christine's way to express the insecurity of the upcoming love. Cool.

5. Hold Me - As mentioned, Christine and Lindsey achieved some fantastic harmonies.

6. Spare Me A Little Bit Of Your Love - A Fleetwood Mac classic. Kind of gospell-ish. I love it.

7. Show Me A Smile - Impressively cute.

8. Isn't It Midnight - Probably the best rocker she ever wrote (with help from Eddy & Lindsey of course).

9. You Make Loving Fun - One of the classic moments of the pop from the 70's.

10. All Over Again - I'm just crazy about this song...

Oh I could go on and on but I'll just stop here.

Song of the moment - Rhiannon

Default Here I Go

1. Why I love this song. It's beautiful and very moving. I just get really touched by lines like "My heart will rise with the morning sun, and the hurt I feel will simply melt away." I actually find it very encouraging and uplifting as opposed to heartbreaking.

2. Songbird Once again, beautiful and emotionally potent.

3. Don't Stop Who could not like this song? That full stop towards the end is such a terrific touch.

4. Little Lies Fun. The first video I ever saw was of this song. Great tune!

5. Hold Me Gotta love this one too.

6. Think About Me I especiallyl like the bridge with Lindsey: "I don't hold you down - maybe that's why you're around!"

7. Say You Love Me Christine really knows how to write fun, easy-to-sing with songs, and this is one of them.

8. Did You Ever Love Me A little offbeat for Christine, but I like it a lot.

10. You Make Lovin' Fun This is catchy one...although I have to admit I got sick ot it after a while.

Honorable Mentions:
As Long As You Follow
Temporary One
The Smile I Live For
Got a Hold On Me
Everywhere
Love In Store

I'll miss her....although I am excited about getting different stuff on the tour to replace her standards!

Imagine how much Stevie and Lindsey would snigger at the unparalleled ineptness of "All Over Again"? (That's if they were able to endure it long enough to suffer the assault.) I have to admit though that I get a laugh out of it as well. The ol' girl sure knows how to tell 'em! Dumb as well as ugly.

I love this song too...but why is everyone forgetting that Stevie is also on that part (listen closely, she is)??

Anyway, here are my picks (in no particular order, can't decide):

Oh Daddy
Brown Eyes
Songbird
Think About Me
Hold Me
Heart of Stone (I just really like the chorus)
Little Lies
Why

Well as bashful as I am, I must admit to being rather fetching in the looks department. That, however, implies no degree of superiority on my part, particularly when it comes to those less blessed in terms of physicality. Christine may be plain but you gotta love her - she's like a favourite old blanket... worn but comfortable. However, she could do with a spruce up now and then. Just my opinion kids.

Exclamation Phil

I still don't know whether I should simply ignore you or start insulting you for all those stupid things you've been saying in this thread.

For the good of this Board, I think I'll take the first option.

Crikey, this is a tough task!
At first I thought, "list my favorite Christine songs? That'll be easy"... but it's definitely not.

Christine's "calm inside the storm" contributions to Fleetwood Mac, are often overlooked alongside Stevie and Lindsey's more emotionally intense material, but the fact remains that Christine has written some really terrific songs over the years... and once you start thinking about it, it's easy to come up with far more "favorites" than you may have expected.

The first three I've listed, are definitely my Top 3 favorites, but the rest are in no particular order....

Nights In Estoril
As Long As You Follow
Brown Eyes
Save Me
The Smile I Live For
Just Crazy Love
Why
Little Lies
Love Will Show Us How
Prove Your Love
Come A Little Bit Closer
Honey Hi
Heart Of Stone
Over My Head
You Make Loving Fun
Spare Me A Little Of Your Love

It's funny, one song I have yet to warm up to is Oh Daddy, yet often people mention it as a favorite. And I love my Dad lots so it's not because of any junior Fruedian slips.

I don't know if I can pick any all time favorites, it's just impossible because so many of her songs mean a lot to me. I think You Make Loving Fun can be exciting even after having had it around for twenty five years. What a great exuberant song! Not boring at all. Over My Head, Say You Love Me, first two FM songs I went crazy over and can still enjoy them. They take me right back the the 70s, and stale pot smoke and wine bottles after a party I was too young to be part of, and all those songs on KZOK CFUN KISW CFOX and the little transistor radios every kid had. It also makes me think of sunshine and blackberries and roller skates.
