Unhappy

Unfortunately, I don’t enjoy current Stevie’s voice. I think In Your Dreams album has good songs but I can’t listen the whole album cause I get saturated of her Donald Duck voice sound. I think her last really great voice performance was The Dance. And probably Trouble in Shangri-La.

However, I do admit I did enjoy her performances during the last Fleetwood Mac shows I went to see them (obviously with Lindsey). But 2014 was the “This is it” to me, their (3) voices were not as good as in the past so I decided no to see them again (plus, then Lindsey was fired in 2018 so say no more).

The song is not bad at the beginning, but the second half I don’t liked that much. Anyway it’s her voice what annoys me. Sad. If I can turn back time…

I like the video..
the lyrics are good..
I appreciate that she released the song.
She is a Baby Boomer who lived through crazy times..
like the assassination of Kennedy and MLK.
The riots in the 60's.......
The changes that they fought for back then...
.....that feel like they could be taken away now.......
I am glad that she is speaking out about these crazy times.

Do we know who wrote the music? Is this a Dave collaboration?

It sounds way too much like Mabel Normand in terms of melody and her voice.

She needs an editor. Cringey.
YES all of this. Remember when she needed Lindsey's help with Soldier's Angel? SAME.
It's clear she's passionate about the words, but this shouldn't be a song. Perhaps better left as a poem.

I like the song and video it’s vey moving. Her voice is what it is. When I listened to her songs recorded prior to the 1990s I see why I loved every thing she sang on. I’m still a fan of her music and I have come to terms with her “new sound”.

I just listened again and caught these lyrics:
"It was all symbolic,
Nothing was as it seemed"
CLUNK!
Clearly we don't need her to tell us that! Why oh why oh why won't she allow the nonsense to be trimmed away to leave the bare bones of a song that might not end up being cringey?? I don't hate it, but like so much of her work, needs some serious editing.

Show them the Way is currently #7 on iTunes, all songs. So people are buying it. The funny thing is Dreams (greatest hits) is still #1 and Dreams (Rumours) is #5. She is having a big week.

I don’t think it’s a good song, but the video is very timely, given what is going on. Plus, I’m the type of person who cries at the sight of RFK’s funeral train, so it doesn’t take much along these lines to get to me.

I guess I am in the minority because I really don't care for "message" songs. I look for my entertainment to be a sanctuary from things like politics. With that said, I didn't think it was bad for a rambling stream of consciousness sort of thing, (though I enjoyed Mabel Normand much more); and the music wasn't bad, but the whole thing was way too long. I doubt I'll buy it or have the urge to listen to it much, but I do hope the burst of creativity leads to a new album.

I had just turned six and still remember seeing it on TV like it was yesterday.

The fact that she thinks that it is equal to Edge of Seventeen shows that she is detached from reality and is a terrible harbinger for a new album .

She doesn’t really think that. She just lied to get people to listen to it.

#4?! That's impressive. Even if it peaks and drops now, I think she did pretty good. Reviews have been pretty good too.

I found myself singing the chorus all day yesterday. So this morning I've listened to it several times. I actually like it. Except for the first verse and part of the second verse. Take out the dress and persian carpet part and in the second verse I'd take out the part about them handing her a drink. Unnecessary. The rest I really like. I also like the rock version better than the accoustic version.
