Default Camper Van Beethoven interview

Camper Van Beethoven are in the UK to do a gig on Sunday. They were interviewed by Liz Kershaw on 6music, and I managed to get in a Lindsey-related question:

"Was Lindsey Buckingham an influence in your choice of Tusk as an album to cover, and do you know what he thinks of it?"

They replied that he was an influence, and they chose Tusk because they were intrigued as to how the album cost a million dollars to make, despite being mostly "a bunch of demos recorded in Lindsey's bathroom".

CvB said that they think he's heard their version, but he hasn't contacted them.

That's an honest & perfectly valid response! Just why the hell _did_ it cost a cool $1 mill?

Probably because they completely customized Studio D at the Village Recorder with all this top-notch equipment & then filled the studio with aides-de-camp like masseuses & pedicurists & personal therapists & ordered all the best foods like Dom Perignon & beluga caviar & Maine lobster & then practically moved in to the place for a year!

Post Interview...

And...like they...painted hotel rooms and
ordered pianos to match! Then Mick hired
Dodger Stadium and Dr. Bartner's students
so he could have a marching band for TUSK!
Didn't he go over-board with extravagance?
Tusk still stands the Test of Time!haha!Sky

The weird thing is that it didn't really look that extravagant a setting in the clips we see of it in the Tusk Documentary...just looks like a normal studio!
