Anyone met Lindsey?
i see a thread with this name on SN board, so i thought i'd start one here too. considering Lindsey seems to be much easier to meet, we should have some good stories!
[if we already have a thread with this topic, mods feel free to consolidate]

The man that lives across the street from me is named Lindsey and I'm good friends with him and his wife. Does that count?

so for newer people here, who may have not been following Lindsey's recent tours - during his 2012 One Man Show tour, Lindsey had a good number of shows for which there were meet&greets after the show.
these m&gs were pretty inexpensive, usually $50 over regular ticket price, and would come with the front or 2nd row tickets for the show. m&gs would be individual, each fan would get few minutes to talk to Lindsey. he would sign whatever you wanted him, and his staff member would take a picture of the two of you (or the whole group if you preferred that), using whatever camera you wanted. it was a very personal (not a group q&a like Mick does for FM shows), and you could go individually or with friends. Lindsey was incredibly gracious, warm, and engaged. if you went to more than one show and m&g (and many did - it was very affordable!), he would remember you from the last time he saw you. if he met your kid, he would comment next time he saw you and ask how is the kid doing, compare notes with you about kids if they are the same age as his. there used to be a good number of people here on The Ledge who went to these m&gs, but most of them are not active here anymore. would love to read some of others experiences!

He particularly looks like Bradley Cooper's dad in this picture.
Edit: I just read Bradley Coopers dad passed away a couple of years ago. Last edited by FuzzyPlum; 06-07-2016 at 03:48 PM.. |

^^ some people think Bradley Cooper looks just like young LB. and that BC should play LB in any FM biopic. whereas others feel strongly that he doesn't.

Never met him in a personal setting, but after one of his Big Machine concerts I went to he was at a table in the hall signing autographs and being quite pleasant/friendly to everyone.

Matthew Ryhs from the show the Americans would be a GREAT LB, especially post Mirage era LB.

In my encounters with him he has been most pleasant.
And so was Mick for that matter. |

Very nice and seemed like he was having a genuine
good time. It was brief but I appreciated his time. Something about my psyche makes me think that all the musical heroes I've met, at least the men - should be taller than me. I guess it's the "looking up to them" syndrome. Yeah, it's weird I know. Mick is the only one I could say who lived up to that. I'm 6'2'' and I guess Mick's around 6'5'' so you can see why. All the others have been a little short. Lindsey surprised me the most. I'd always thought since he was this mad musical genius that he'd be a jerk. He seemed to have that reputation. But he gave me the most time on any of them. He too seemed to be enjoying himself on those occasions. Christine was cordial. Much more than I would have guessed. The one time I've been close to John he seemed to not want much to do with us commoners. So I let him have his space. Not much more than a goodbye from him. He wasn't a jerk at all, he just seemed a little indifferent to the fame side of things. I have a mix of feelings about my few encounters with Ms. Nicks. From the coldness of her on stage presence (with Fleetwood Mac). To the magical experience she gave me with just a few words after a show. |
