Isn't It Midnight, Live
Hi all.
I've been listening to Tango these past two days non stop...First time in years. Anyway, I remember now how much I love Isn't it Midnight. I was wondering--and I don't want to be too pushy--if anyone has any live MP3s of it? The one from the Tango tour is good; and I'd love to have one from the Dance. I'd be much obliged. |

Here's "Isn't It Midnight" from Fresno on the Tango tour. They never did this song on the Dance tour.

I've been listening to Mirage lately and thought that Love in Store would've been great to hear on the Dance as well as Little Lies or Isn't it Midnight. Oh well... |

As for YMLF, I like in the old days (even with Rick and Billy) they switched it up and has that little instrumental part in the middle. SO what did she do.... Everywhere Temporary One Say You Love Me (sorry, I need those keyboards) You Make Loving Fun Over My Head Dont Stop Oh Daddy (tour) blechh |

Oh, wow, I thought they had. One of my friends saw them in Buffalo, NY and raved about how good Isn't It Midnight was. LOL. Perhaps my friend was on drugs? |

I always thought so, too. They could have rock that up a bit like they did on the Mirage tour and it would have made a great show piece. I didn't understand why the band chose to strip back the arrrangement on OVM when they'd been doing high energy versions of it for years. It was as if they were trying to copy the album version. |

The live version of Isn't It Midnight has always seemed much better compared to the studio version. The lack of Stevie on the Tango version is quite obvious when listening to the live one. Plus live seems to rock out a bit more.

That is true, she brings so much more to it. Though Christine's voice on the live versions I've heard has always sound a little strained, a bit less clear than on the studio version. So I'm not sure which I prefer...

I agree with you about Say You Love Me, although I don't dislike the Dance version. I always want Christine keyboards, always. But, I LOVE the Dance tour version of Oh Daddy. That was my favorite live version of that song ever! On the tour, I think they should have got ridden of the two Buckingham/Nicks solo songs(Go Insane & Stand Back) & added a few Christine songs like Brown Eyes or Hold Me or Little Lies.

as much as i love her i have to agree that Chris's songs on the Dance were pretty weak. it was definitely Buckingham Nicks version II. her songs were there to simply make the reunion complete. but it was clear that she had no interest in doing anything new or interesting. definitely phoned-in performances. the trade off was that everyone got to hear how great Stevie's voice had become and lindsey's "big love" was a new thing for most people (those of us who hadn't gone to his Out of the Cradle Shows)
