Default Think About It cover from 1977

News to me - I just found out that Think About It was recorded by Rusty Wier back in 1977 before Stevie's version!

Thank you so very much for sharing this. THIS HAS BLOWN MY MIND!

I knew Fleetwood Mac did Think About Me in the studio, I never heard of this Rusty person but beautiful voice.

Can we get David, SteveMacD, aleuzzi, or our other intelligent Ledgends to give us a briefing on this, please?

Was Stevie kind of like a Carole King selling her songs for others to record?
I.E. Sorcerer to Marilyn Martin and If You Ever Did Believe to Carole King's daughter
He actually sings very well. As an aside, listening to him sing Don't Let Me Down Again.

You know, I've noticed that there haven't been any posts from Steve for a while, and I just searched the member's list, and can't find his name. Perhaps he's gone from the Ledge?

I noticed that too. He comments on everything so it is odd he is not around lately. Hope he is ok.

I’ll certainly comment—though David is the resident smarty pants. I’m just a lifelong Mac fan with a love of “Sugar Daddy,” “Oh Daddy” and other popular opinions

I listened to Rusty’s version and it’s warm, homely and, above all, convincing. Somehow, those lyrics sound genuine coming from his throat. There’s no drama or flash in either the arrangement or his reading, so I’m thinking he must have covered the song because he could identify with its message as s wanted to illuminate the words. There’s no greater complement to a songwriter than that.

And it sure beats the hell out of Englebert Humperdink’s cover of “Say You Love Me.”

Don't sell yourself short!

It's interesting that it's a cover yet it's the first released recording!

And Engelbert is so hawt! Quando, quando

Rusty must be a pretty big Stevie and Lindsey fan. His version of Think About It is really a fine take. Kind of makes me long for a Springsteen cover of it... in his Texas voice not his Dylan one.

I also tip my hat to you, Ledgend!
