Default Ashes of American Flags

has anyone heard the new live Wilco album?
it's got some pretty spectacular moments.
about 3 minutes into the track Ashes Of American Flags, there's a fantastic guitar solo that really reminds me of Lindsey's playing.
I think it's Nels Cline on lead. But it may also be him alternating w/ Jeff Tweedy.

Anyone else?

p.s. it also starts to get a little grateful deadish.

i wonder if Lindsey is a Wilco fan.

Yes indeed! I think the tracklisting could have been a little better (why on earth they didn't include "Monday" with the horn section is beyond me), but I really can't argue with the performances.

I will have to listen to that again and get back to you, but it's not something I noticed before.

If he's heard of them, I don't see how he could not be. They seem right up his alley with all the fun production tricks and "sonic painting" they've dabbled in on their last two albums.

the solo goes on to the end of the track -
it transforms and takes on a life of it's own -
treading somewhere unique between Lindsey Buckingham and Jerry Garcia

on a sort of related note....

i heard the first track from Beth Orton's new album.
it comes out in February and was produced by Jim O'Rourke.
it immediately reminded me of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Listening to it now, I definitely hear the Lindsey vibe in certain parts. Thanks for bringing my attention to it! It's such a gorgeous solo.

I'm hoping someone will give it to me for Christmas.
A gift of Wilco is a gift for life.
