Well, I wouldn't go that far. But it's nice of you to throw Gerald a bone.

it would seem as such. i'm just so used to loving lindsey/stevie solo songs (for the most part) immediately upon hearing them. not this time.

perhaps i'm too indie for le buck now? (*shakes fists at you and merf*)

however, i do like shut us down quite a bit (despite the whispered / breathy vocals). i'll always love down on rodeo and someone's gotta change your mind. i'm curious as to how much the other songs we've come to know over the years will change or if they'll be as we previously heard them.

also interesting to note: yesterday the album was #440 in amazon sales when i pre-ordered it. today, under the skin is at #233.

i believe the album is ranked by how many units have sold against other albums (not necessarily being pre-sold but that are for sale) on amazon. of course i'm not really sure how many albums amazon sells but i think it's safe to say the newer the album or the more popular the album, the higher ranking it will have. christine's album in the meantime is now at #11,093 in music.

here are the top albums

K. Thanks. In contrast to Christine's it's a bona fide smash!

That spike must have been from the presales today. You preordered from Amazon if you participated.......

Riss.....Show You How is growing on me. The lyrics are great.

over time, the number will likely drop as new albums by more popular artists are released. it's the nature of the beast. i'm sure christine's album had a higher number when it was released.

Wrong, I say, wrong.
To be fair, we were just talking about the percussion sounds. Although I'm certain that to some people this new stuff with the extreme vocal manipulation will sound even more artificial than OOTC. But then we don't need to care about those people, do we?

I do agree with you that minimalism is the key here though. These new tracks are very anti-guitar hero in the end.

Nah, it's all a tribute to the immortal Roland TR-808. Now all we need is the patented handclap sound!

Check out my post on the first page of this thread, I did a little bit of detective work with the website and found out that it actually just references mp3 files... Here are the links again:

* Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind (Track 10)
* It Was You (Track 5)
* Cast Away Dreams (Track 7)
* Down On Rodeo (Track 9)
* Show You How (Track 2)

It took me ages to work it out too David! You don't need to click, the music should just start when you go on the site.
