If that is the case, I imagine selling it for $21 mill is a bad idea. Who would want to pay that much for a house in a bad neighborhood? lol
From the article: "The police told me that our ring like to hit houses on weekend nights between seven and eight," recounts the wife of a major Hollywood producer, whose Benedict Canyon house was burgled last February as the trend grew more apparent. "It happened to us on a Saturday night at 8:07."
The producer's wife feels sure the thieves knew that the housekeepr was off on Saturday nights and that the house would be empty. Brazenly, they threw a large lawn sculpture through the living room window, ran up to the master bedroom and stuffed as much jewelry as they could into a pillowcase.
(snip)
The fence had a pawnshop on Western Avenue. The Beverly Hills police had swooped down on it with a search warrant, then gone to the fence's house, where they found his wife wearing some of the jewelry just stolen.
(snip)
Interestingly, the fence's wife worked in the real-estate field, for a title-escrow compan. The producer's house had been on the market for a year. Was this, perhaps, the conduit of inside information for this particular Cuban Crew?
(snip)
Some of the victims have quietly sold their houses and moved to other neighborhoods, hoping thieves won't follow them there. At least one victim, Loree Rodkin, has decided that a house in the hills now is too scary a proposition. Instead, she's bought an apartment in a highly secure high-rise building."

Two words... GATED COMMUNITY.

You would think at that price, it would be. I remember seeing something on TV one time that showed these thieves posing as repairmen to gain entry into homes. Wouldn't you think that Mr. and Mrs. Richie Rich would let the guard shack know when they're expecting repairs and the repair people would be on the "list" for that day in order to gain entry? Who knows.

Just wanted to let you all know that Lindsey and Kristen closed on a new house on December 21, 2004.
I work in the real estate industry and came across the information in my travels.
I hope that their home was not struck by the burlgars in Bel Air and congratulate them on their new home.

Someone on another board had posted that they purchased a house in a location that I know to be incredibly close to the location of their Bel Air home. It just doesn't make sense to scale down and move 3 miles down the road. Maybe to them it does but I don't get it.

It might be big but the square footage is significantly less than the house on the Hill and they have more kids. Plus, you have no idea that he actually MADE money selling the house on the hill...unless you are privy to his financial documents.

I think those are public record. Not that I would ever care about that, It's none of my business.
